35 Week Check up
Current mood: hungry
Well I went into the doc today for my 35 week check up. Everything checked out good! The baby's heart beat is so strong now and actually sounds like a real heart beat and not a little butterfly beat. Doc says is healthy and strong, and my belly is growing just fine. I am finally seeing that weight gain! Its horrible going in and the scales has jumped up a couple of pounds every visit! Luckily, its mostly her and my belly so I am not puffing up to much.... yet. So far from my first weight check when I first found out I was pregnant , till now, I have gained a total of 12lbs. I guess that isn't to bad, since the Doc said she didnt want me to gain more than 20 this pregnancy. Some books say that my ninth month starts on week 35 and others week 36. I am 35 so who knows what I am. All I know is that I have about a month left and this little one will finally be here! I can't wait. She is so active and, this past weekend she woke up around 2am and I swear she squirmed and kicked non stop till 3!!!! She is definately a night baby just like Daddy!
My first day of physical therapy for my pelvic condition is next week so I will write about that when it happens. I also have doc appointments every week from now on so I guess I will be blogging alot. Well its time to hit the grocery store I am hungry!

New Mommies left and right!
Current mood: excited
I just wanted to share the great news about a couple of new Mommies!
My best friend of 14 years, Mona, (who was also my bridesmaid in my wedding) finally gave birth last night. After 4 DAYS of labor , baby Koa Robert Anderson was born May 25th at 7:29pm 6 lbs 12oz 19inches! I have been on pins and needles since I got her first text late Thursday night about her going to the hospital. Of course she wasnt "ready" yet so they sent her home. For the last two days I have been receiving texts from her with updates, mostly how the contractions were so horrible she couldnt talk, walk, or do anything. Poor thing couldnt go to the hospital until they were 5 mins apart. But she was a real trooper, Mona style! (for those who know her, know what I mean) she hung in there and the big day finally came last night. I cant wait to see her and her new bundle of joy!
Also, early Sat. morning I got an email from an ex co worker of mine. One of my close ex coworkers (who was also pregnant along with me! Both got pregnant in Hawaii around the same time! and were only a few weeks apart) went into pre-term labor. Frosty (our nickname for her) wasn't due till the end of July, however, her water broke early. Again, I was on pins and needles to hear what the status of her situation was. (At the same time Mona was also in labor) Good news though!!! Frosty too ended up giving birth yesterday to a bouncing baby boy! Kai! He was alittle over 3lbs, but like his mother, is a trooper and last I heard he didnt even need oxygen! He is breathing well on his own and doing great! Same with Frosty.
Wow, two babies in one day! Really makes me start thinking about my own! Baby Mia's big day is just around the corner. She is becoming so active day by day I can never get any rest. Well I will keep you updated on everything as I find out. As for tomorrow I have my 35 week check up, Ill post how it goes!

(In the Eyes of Mia) Eeeeek! My first thunderstorm!
Current mood: scared
I have been so excieted to come into the world outside of Mama's tummy .... well until today. I heard loud booming noises coming from outside Mama's tummy and they always made her jump, so I would jump too.
Mama and Daddy took me to a store to get more food and I could hear them running around outside because of a thing called rain? It was so noisey that all I wanted to do is curl up and hide, but my feet would get in the way! So I would kick Mama really hard to let her know I was scared and wanted to go home where it was quiet and warm. I even managed to push hard against BOTH her ribs at the same time to show Mama I meant business!
I over heard Mama and Daddy talking about a Tornado that touched down a few miles from our home! That scared me more! I don't know what a Tornado is but if it tastes anything like a Tomato I want no part of it. Even Daddy's car was louder than usual, all around me were noises of thunder and rain. Mama would pat me and tell me it was ok but I wasn't happy until I got home. Now I feel safe. I don't hear the loud booming anymore, I hope it doesn't come back.
Maybe I should stay inside my nest a bit longer, its scary outside!

(In the Eyes of Mia) It was HOT today!!!!
Current mood: blissful
Today Mama and Daddy told me they were taking me to SeaWorld, but when they walked outside with me it was HOT! I could tell, my nest was really really REALLY warm. I don't think they wanted to go to SeaWorld with me being that hot, however, they did take me on a trip to San Diego anyways and fed me my favorite dish... drunken noodle!!!! It was really yummy and I thanked Mama by kicking her in the ribs.
Then they took me out in the heat AGAIN! This time to some place where there were lots of people and noise. I overheard my Mama saying something about it being a Mall they used to visit when they lived in San Diego. I don't know what a mall is, but it was HOT and noisey. I didn't really like it so I made Mama feel sick because I didn't want to be outside anymore. They took me to a place that was cool, nice and dark... then all of a sudden I heard loud noises! I thought it was music so I could dance, so I started to dance but it turns out it was a movie theater. I am not sure what Mama and Daddy were watching but I would dance whenever it got loud. I even felt hungry again and made Mama eat her left over drunken noodles by hand! I didn't want to wait for her to find a fork. It was still yummy.
After the movie was over, Mama waddled me to a store to get some cold drinks. I told her I wanted Sprite because water just didn't sound good. I went to sleep for while and when I woke up I was hungry. I was glad Daddy thought ahead and stopped by my favorite burrito place and got Mama a bean and cheese burrito on their way home. YAY! So Mama fed me and I went back to sleep for awhile. Now I am here...
Overall its been a fun HOT day and I can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring!

Oh no! I have SPD! (Symphysis pubis dysfunction)
Current mood: miserable
Well as you probably know from my previous blogs, I have been complaining about this new pain that just started up last week. The longer I sit down the more it hurts when I get up. I have turned to the net for remedies and even called the Labor and Delivery nurse line for advice. Everyone seemed to say its just the baby getting bigger, and your body changing. However, the the degree of pain I was experiencing and how long it lasts (hours on end) I knew there was something more than just the usually pangs of pregnancy. I finally was able to contact my OB and she advised me to come in ASAP. I went in today and she confirmed what I felt I had anyways, "Symphysis pubis dysfunction".
This disorder only happens in 1 out of 35 women. Bascially what it is, is since I am so far along now, towards the end of pregnacy your body's hormone level start to change. This is preparing for delivery. One of the hormones is called "relaxin" and what it does, is it relaxes your muscles and ligaments. In some women, me being one, your body produces to much and your muscles over relax causing severe pain in the pelvic/pubic area. There are three degrees of this dysfunction, minimal, mild, and severe. Thus far, I am teetering between mild and severe. I don't need a wheel chair (thank GOD!) but the pain does hinder me walking once it has set in.
This really sucks because it acts up when I am sitting. It doesnt matter where, the couch, chair, bed, floor. It just happens. When I lay down, it eases but I can't turn over without unbearable pain. I can't put on my pants standing up since I can't lift my legs high or apart much. Putting on shoes, let alone tieing them causes much pain. Forget about trying to bend over and pick something up! Unfortunately the only cure to this is having the baby and I still have at least 7 more weeks to go. My OB referred me to get some physical therapy out in Riverside to see if it helps with the pain. So far I am just on 2 tylonal every 4 hours (thats the only med I can take cuz I am preggers) and wearing a support belt 24/7 which isnt very comfortable.
I asked how delivery is going to be, and she reassured me that the doctors will be notified of my condition and delivery should be ok. I am kind of bummed but considering it took this long to finally have something uncomfortable happen to me while pregnant, I think I did good. She also checked the baby she she is doing good too.
Well I am off to lay down in bed and hope something good is on tv.

(In the Eyes of Mia) I was a good baby on Mommy’s Day!
Current mood: pleased
Yesterday was Mama's Day and I was a very good baby! I love my Mama and wanted to give her something very special, but since I can't drive yet, I got Daddy to buy a flower for Mama from me! It was a very pretty single red rose. This made Mama extra happy and she fed me strawberries!!! Yum yum!

My First "Mothers Day"
Current mood: cheerful
I got to celebrate my first "pre" Mothers Day yesterday! We were planning on going to SeaWorld but my recent pelvic pain didn't let us. However, we did get to visit Adrian's family which is ALWAYS a treat! There was TONS of GREAT food and being able to see everyone again is always fun.
It was kind of weird to be wished a Happy Mothers Day for the first time, but I quickly got used to it. Though Baby Mia isn't out yet, she is here and has a HUGE impact on my life already. My whole life already revolves around her and I have dealt with and continue to deal with many different things for the betterment of her. I know this is just a grain of sand in the beach of whats to come but hey I think I deserve alittle recognition anyways. I am happy to see many people agree with me on this. From the day I found out I was pregnant I became an instant Mama so being wished a Happy Mothers Day was awesome. Especially since I have waited so long to be a Mama! Baby Mia even gave me my first Mother's Day gift!!!! A single rose! Daddy had to help alittle with getting it, but it was from her awwww.
Anyways, it was an awesome day! Ack.. shes going nuts again.. I think I need to go eat!

Ugh.. joys of pregnancy?
Current mood: uncomfortable
Well I am officially 8 months now! YAY! however, the fun time I think is begining to fade. She always seems to be right on target with certain mile stones and one of them being shes now positioned herself upside down. It was cute at first, ya know feeling her kicks up high and her punches down low, but now shes pressing really hard on my pelvic bone with what I think is her head, and it hurts like CRAZY!
I now can't sit for long periods of time. It feels fine when I am sitting but at soon as I get up OMG!!!! PAIN!! I have to waddle all hunched cuz the pain is just so bad. I almost feels like if I fell from the sky doing the splits and landed on a horse who was running full speed!!
It doesn't matter where I sit, the computer chair, the couch, the bed. It always seems to happen now. .I finally took Adrian's advice and called up the nurses line to ask for advice and to make sure it wasn't just me doing something wrong. Since I have had trouble with "round ligament" pain throughout my pregnancy (sheesh it started when I was only a couple of months) the nurse said it will probably just get worse now that the baby is getting heavier and bigger. And boy has it! There is no real remedy for this other than shifting positions and laying down more with my feet elevated. Joy! But overall, its nothing I am doing, its just her being stubborn and not wanting to move positions haha.
Anyways, other than this pain I am doing good. Looking forward to my first "Pre" Mothers Day in which Adrian is treating me to SeaWorld! YAY! I just hope the baby cooperates and doesn't give me to much trouble with all that walking and standing.
Well I have already been at this computer to long just to type this cuz I can feel the pain creeping back. I will keep you guys updated!

(In the Eyes of Mia) Yay I learned something new!
Current mood: mischievous
Hello... I'm baaaack! I learned something new recenetly. I learned if I kick extra hard I can kick Mamma in the ribs! This is almost as fun as kicking her bladder. She jumps everytime I do it and it makes me giggle.
I also recently did a head stand but now I can't seem to be able to move out of that position. I don't get to much of a head rush, but when I don't feel good I make sure Mamma knows and she lays down.
I also invented a game with Mamma. If I push my feet out hard against her tummy, she rubs that spot with her hands and pushes me back. So I have to find another spot to push out on, but she always finds me. Once I tried to fool her and pushed my bootie out against her belly but she knew the difference and laughed.
I also been kicking the bed pretty hard now when Mamma lays on her side. I even woke up Daddy a couple of times YAY!.
Well I am off to sleep now, all this excitment has worn me out. TTYL!!
