Current mood: adventurous
Busy...busy.. busy... thats what we were today. We had a few errunds to run and with doing those we added a few more stops to our trip.
Orginally we were just going out for breakfast at our favorite breakfast place, The Orginal Pancake House. We had not eaten there in AGES and their cheese omletes and blueberrie waffle sure sounded good. So we all got ready and out the door we went. Surprisenly the weather wasn't all that bad, the car temp. only read 95 which was a nice change from the constant 100+'s we have been getting lately. The breakfast place is in Temecula so it took us about 20 mins. to get there. They are only open until 3pm so we usually get there right before it closes to beat the lines and rush since it is a very popular place to eat... such great food. Anyways by the time we got there Mia had knocked out in her car seat. She was in such a deep sleep that she was like a rag doll and all floppy when we unbuckled her and got her out. She woke up and gave us the meanest stare. She was not happy to be woken up from her sleep and dragged out into the heat. Ah well... once we got inside she perked up.
We placed our order and they gave us some crayons and a coloring menu for Mia to play with. She was sitting on Daddy's lap at the time and they both colored. She is getting better at it, she only eats the crayons sometimes! haha She made a few back and forth scribbles then our food came. We placed her in one of those high chairs they have, gave her a clean plate and tore apart a pancake for her to eat. She gobbled it up so fast, she LOVES pancakes! Thats when we realized this was the first meal she has ever eaten from an actual resturant. Usually we pack food from home for her to eat while we eat the resturant food, but not this time. She was a big girl and ate her pancakes (2.5 full sized ones) and had some of Daddy's cheese omlete. She was sitting next to me in the high chair and insisted that I keep watching her. Whenever I would look away or try to eat my own food she would lean over and start pulling on my shirt sleeve. She demanded I watch her. I don't know why she was doing this but what first started as cute soon became old and tiresome. I wanted to eat and she wouldn't let me! and it wasn't like she stared at me when I looked at her, as soon as I would look at her and she knew she had my full attention she would smile, look away, and start eating her pancake again. Silly girl! Anyways after we all got stuffed on breakfast it was time to go. All the waitresses what commented on how cute she was earlier in the meal, said bye to her as we left.
While walking to the car I remembered there was a petshop within walking distance. We decided to check it out because they always had such cute cats and dogs there. We put some of our stuff back into the car and walked to the petstore. Mia got a HUGE kick out of the little puppies playing. Especially the bouncing Chiwawas. She would touch the glass and giggle at them. We showed her all the animals then walked next door to the Lizard store. We needed to buy more food for our Bearded Dragon, Beardie. We had not gone to that store before but it was actually kind of cool. They had every type of reptile you could think of there on display, including a albino cobra! ya a cobra! We showed her the turtles, and pythons, and other snakes and monitors but she really liked this one spotted monitor. It kept clawing the glass trying to find a way out and Mia liked trying to touch him through the glass. When she would see him go nuts she would laugh. It was really cute. Eventually we paid for our stuff and it was off to our next stop... Staples by the house.
We went to Staples looking for a new computer chair and a large box or poster board. I really want to make Mia a new house but turns out it would be to expensive if I made it from scratch....ah well. We let her walk around the store a bit to stretch her little legs and soon she was all over the isles. We bought a couple of things, no chair, then it was off to Lowes.
We went to Lowes for more Ant/bug spray (the ants are seriously invading our house BAD this year for some reason), and some new sprinkler heads. After shopping around the store a bit we bought some stuff. Again I let Mia loose in one of the isles and she went NUTS walking all over the place and attempting to run. After Lowes we finally made it back home.
I cooked Mia a quick dinner and let her run around and play for a bit before bed to get some of that energy out. Eventually it was bedtime for her and I put her down. I straighten up the livingroom a bit while Adrian straighten up his room. He is trying to organize all his stuff, a project he has been working on since we moved here back in 2005! haha I really shouldn't say anything though, not only do I still have unpacked boxes in our garage but my old room, which I gave to Mia, still has half of the closet filled with my stuff I need to sort through. Ah well, I'll get to it eventually.... probably when we need to move again! haha
Anyways I just thought I would share our little day of adventure. Tomorrow we HOPE (crosses her fingers) we will make it to San Diego for another adventurous day... we want to take her to the beach! We will see if that happens or not...
