Night #2

Current mood: sleepy

Well Mia's first night in her big girl bed didn't go quite as I would have liked it to go. She ended up rolling off the mattress and bashing her head against her rocking chair. Now she has a pretty nasty looking 1.5 inch bruise on her forehead. We have since moved her bed to the other side of the room and reinforced her with more pillows. Infact I think she has every pillow in the house around her... all but two (our pillows on our bed)

So last night was her second night. Things seemed to go well. I didn't hear any flops, thumps, or bangs. No crying ... nothing. I thought the night had gone pretty well. She woke up early in the morning and yes she still wakes me up the same way she used to when she was in her crib.. by kicking the wall. So I went to her room and got her up. She was her normal perky self. I thought everything was good until I brought her downstairs and was giving her breakfast. Thats when I noticed it. Her lower lip looked puffy and dark. I tried to examine it more but she wouldn't let me. It almost looked like it was cut and bruised!!! How did that happen!??!!? She didn't go to bed with that, I know for sure. I was concerned and even had thoughts of bringing her into the doctor but opted to wait until Adrian saw it when he woke up.

The morning/ early afternoon progressed as normal. Her lip didn't seem to bother her at all. She still sucked on her two fingers like she always does with no problem. Then it was nap time. I removed the baby gate from the stairs and let her climb up like she always does. Well for the first time in MONTHS she slipped, fell, and belly flopped on the steps on the way up. She hit her mouth on one of the steps and busted her lip right open!!! She started screaming and I quickly picked her up and ran her to the kitchen. Her mouth and little teeth were all covered in blood. I tried to wipe it away but then remembered an old trick my Grandma used to do for me when I would bust open my lip. I ran to the freezer and gave her an ice-cube to suck. This seemed to soothe her right away and the bleeding stopped. Poor baby! She was bleeding from the same exact spot her previous owie was at.

Once I had her calmed down and had her happy again I put her to bed in her room. Everything was fine after that and the day was fine. I just now laid her down for her Night #3. Hopefully nothing will happen. At this rate she is going to be all bruised and busted up for Easter!!!! Sigh... joys of toddlerhood I guess. At least she already took her Easter Bunny picture before all this happened haha Oh well. All in all, let just hope that third night is a charm!

Status Update

Lets hope 3rd night is a charm. Tonight is Mia's 3rd night her in big girl bed.. 1st night resulted with a bruised forehead, 2nd night she woke up with a busted lip (I still don't know how the heck that happened), so hopefully no more bruises tonight!! I have about 30 pillows circling her now!

Mia's First Night in the Big Bed!!!!

Current mood: accomplished

Adrian and I have discussed on numerous occasions that Mia is getting big enough to sleep in a big girls bed. The only reason we have delayed the big transition was the fact that I felt she would fall off the bed since she is such a wild sleeper at night. So we delayed it for awhile until I got pregnant.

Due to a pregnancy issue, coupled with the fact my last pregnancy ended in miscarriage my doctor has restricted me to no lifting past 15 lbs. Well that isn't very reasonable since the last time we weighed Mia she was 25! So lifting her has been a challenge, especially lifting her in and out of her crib (her side rail is broken and doesn't lower either). It wasn't so bad at first but recently it has been causing lots of lower stomach pain and strain. So while my Dad watched her for the past two weeks, he has been slowly transitioning her to get used to sleeping in a big bed. Every nap time she slept in my parents bed when she was in Oxnard, and in our guest bed (a full size bed) at our house. After my Dad left a few days ago, I have tried to contiune the trend of her taking naps in the guestroom, however, I have failed miserably. She refuses to settle down and sleep with me. So I end up having to get Adrian to carry her up the stairs and into her room.

Well like I mentioned before, it is now starting to hurt getting her in and out of bed in the mornings (which is the only time Adrian can't help me since he is sleeping (he works overnights)) So something needed to be done... fast!

So we decided to move Adrian's unused spare bed (a full size) from his room into Mia's next door. We figured if we could get her to sleep on the big bed I would no longer have to strain myself getting her in and out of the crib. Infact I wouldn't have to lift her at all in the mornings since I could change her diaper on the bed and I can help guide her down the stairs.

When Adrian moved his bed into her room, he only moved the mattress in, so it would be really low to the floor incase she rolls off of it. Once the bed was in the room, I wasn't sure when exactly we would have her try to sleep in the big bed since we had other issues to consider... ie. where to relocate her night light (that she needs or she cries) where to relocate her radio (which she uses to sleep), and where to line up the bed since I didn't want it near the drafty window or under the ceiling vent. Well in typical Mia fashion... she was the one who called the shots and decided on her own that tonight was the night she would sleep on the big bed!

I wasn't planning on transitioning her tonight, I wanted to see how she would do with a nap first but Mia had other plans. When it was bedtime I had Mia climb the stairs and told her to go into her room. She did, and saw the big bed. Right away she jumped on it and tried to lay down. Uh-oh. I figured I would lay with her for a bit then eventually put her in the crib. Ya, that didn't work.

Eventually I ended up pulling all her stuff out of her crib and laying it on the mattress. The mattress didn't even have a sheet on it yet since it was still in the dryer! (I told you I wasn't prepared). So I went downstairs, grabbed a few more pillows and the blanket from the guestroom bed and went back into her room and tried to fix up her bed. She was having a blast rolling around but she couldn't quite get comfortable. I was laying on it too and I couldn't either... not without a sheet on the mattress. So there lie my dilemma. Should I go get the sheet from the dyer and put it on, and risk waking her up more? or should I let her sleep on the mattress (wich had a cotton cover on it). Sure enough I couldn't stand the thought of her sleeping on mattress so I left again, grabbed the sheet and went back into her room. Of course Mia perked up and went nuts watching me put the sheet on. She wouldn't calm down again and was rolling everywhere.

Then I began to feel hungry. Uh-oh! For anyone who has been pregnant knows once you feel hungry you only have a tiny window to hurry up and eat or you end up getting really sick. If that wasn't bad enough I also had to use the restroom really bad. I was kicking myself for not going before putting Mia to bed but I didn't think I would be in her room this long. Finally I couldn't wait any longer and I bailed on Mia who wasn't happy. I promised her I would be back. So I went downstairs, ate a quick banana and used the restroom. When I came back she was waiting quietly for me. I laid back down with her.

Whenever I showed signs of wanting to get up she would sit right up push me back down and gentally touch my eyes so I would close them. I knew then I was trapped. She contiuned to roll around and not get comfortable. I was getting tired myself and the banana I ate wasn't cutting it, I was feeling hungry again. What to do?! So I finally decided that I would just have to leave. I quietly told Mia to lay down and go to sleep but once I got up she did too, ran over to her rocking chair and started rocking herself. She kept trying to get me to laugh with her little smirk and she was even making her funny hand noises, but I still had to go. I told her I would check up on her in a short while and I left her as is, in the room and closed the door. However, I didn't shut it all the way. I didn't think she would notice since it was dark, plus I wanted to be able to spy on her in a few mins.

So I went downstairs, fed the cat and went to the kitchen and drank some Lemonade. I was only gone for maybe 2 mins max. I couldn't hear her over the baby monitor so I thought I would check up on her really fast. I really wanted to see if she crawled back into bed. I started walking up the stairs and about midway I started hearing this thump.... thump... thump! I wondered what that sound was and in an instant I recognized it! That sound was her coming down the stairs!!!! ALONE!!! and in the DARK! OMG! I was just about to run up the stairs (our stairs are split into two sections) but before I could she turned the corner and stood there on the middle plateu! MIA!!! I thanked God that she didn't go tumbling since she has never gone down the stairs unsupervised EVER! and only today was I teaching her how to use the hand rail. She stood there shocked to find me the same way I was shocked to find her. She raised her hands for me to pick her up and I did.. my heart racing at "what could have happened". I took her back to the room and laid her back on the bed and laid down with her.

She still wouldn't get comfy and rolled around more and more. Eventually she stood up and went back to the rocking chair to play. Thats when I threw in the towel. I give up! I started putting things back into her crib and right away Mia started to cry. She knew what was going to happen next. I took her off the rocking chair and place her in her crib. She blew up BIG TIME!!!! She was so upset. She didn't want to be in her crib, she wanted the big bed. So I took everything back out, including her, and placed it back on the bed. This time she stayed put and laid on the bed.

Eventually I started to get hungry again and it had already been 2 hours since we started this adventure. Mia was laying there, facing away from me. I was really hoping she would fall asleep before I left. Then I noticed she started to breathe heavier and stopped moving around and playing with her blanket. Could it be? Could this finally be the moment I've waited 2 hours for?! Is she finally asleep?! I started to feel relieved and happy all a once. Finally!!!!... my little munchkin was asleep and just like that her foot popped up in the air!!! ARGH! She tricked me again! She wasn't sleep. Thats when I decided it was time to give Mia her final test. So I kissed her goodnight and left the room, leaving her laying in the bed. I haven't heard anything through the monitor yet and I have yet to check on her... infact I think I will now since its already been 30 mins.... be right back

SUCCESS!!!!! She is sound asleep on one side of the bed!!! Yay! My baby is a big girl now!! I am so proud of her. Hopefully the rest of the night will go smoothly. Wish me luck... now its time for me to EAT!

*********** UPDATE ***************

Well I stayed up alittle later after I finished this blog and ate. Eventually I went to bed, but of course not before checking on Mia. I quietly opened the door and found her sleeping peacefully in her big bed. I was happy to see that. I then grabbed the camera and took one quick picture before leaving. I was afraid the flash would wake her up but it didn't. I slowly closed the door and left. I was putting my camera down on the top of the stairwell then I heard...

THUMP!!!!!!!

I knew that sound, she had fallen out of the bed. I quickly went to her door. I could hear a tiny whimper coming from inside her room. I opened the door and I found that she had climbed right back into bed and was falling back to sleep. She didn't see me so I closed the door. I felt really happy that even though she had fallen she did not fully wake up, cry, or anything AND she got back into bed herself. I felt pretty confident that the night would go smoothly.... WRONG!!!

I was only asleep for alittle over an hour before I was quickly awaken by one of my famous night terrors. I get them all the time so that was nothing new. After I calmed down I got comfortable again and was just about to fall back to sleep when I heard...

BAM!!!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

I jumped out of bed!!! Mia was screaming hysterically. I knew she had fallen out of bed but I couldn't understand why she was crying so hard. I thought maybe she had scared herself or something. I ran to her room and she was standing there on the floor crying her little heart out. I quickly scooped her up into my arms and attempted to console her. I sat on her bed and quietly calmed her down. Eventually she caught her breath and noticed the bed and drove back into it and started to fall asleep again. I rubbed her head a bit and after she was back to sleep I went back to bed but not before reinforcing the ground with pillows and putting more pillow all around her.

The rest of the night was quiet. I was woken at 9:30am by my cell phone going off. I decided to check on Mia before returning the call. I slowly opened her door and found her awake, quietly laying on her bed playing with her blanket. She was so happy to see me and went nuts. I let her play around a bit in her room before we officially started our morning.

I later helped her walk down the stairs, changed her diaper and was in the kitchen ready to prepare her breakfast when I noticed something. There was a HUGE bruise on her forehead!!! OH-NO!!!! It was from that fall she took last night. Turns out she hit her head on the rocking chair on the way down... poor baby!!!! She seemed ok and the bruise didn't seem to bother her though it is definately the worst bruise she has ever had! Well I guess it just means she earned her badge of honor last night haha

So now we will see how tonight goes. I had Adrian rearrange the room a bit so she has 2 walls against her bed and her crib (which is a make-shift 3rd wall). Hopefully this will help her not fall out of bed. I also put pillows all around just in case she does and now the rocking chair is on the other side of the room. We will see how it goes

My little comedian and Mia makes her toys show love

Current mood: amused

I don't know what it is lately. At first I thought maybe Mia is just growing up... but then again what I really think has brought this on is me and how sick I've been. What I am talking about is the fact Mia has becoming my little comedian! She never stops cracking me up and she is doing it on purpose! Before she would make me laugh just by being herself and cute, however, now she has learned how to poke my funny bone and she has me busting up all the time!!

Ever since my pregnancy sicnkess has set in I have been a wet blanket on everything. I am no longer able to play games with Mia, have fun with her or interact the same way I used to. I know she has taken notice because she is more cuddly with me now and won't leave my side.

Finally my sickness has been getting somewhat better so I have been perking up more and more each day. Ever since I have shown signs of feeling better Mia has jumped right in, in attempts to hurry the process. She makes me laugh! She makes funny sounds with her hands and giggles after, she will try to scare me and laughs when she does, just yesterday she was flapping one of her hands like a bird and she did it so hard her jammies started coming off her arm. I started to laugh because it really did look funny and then she starting cracking up too. Of course she kept doing it over and over again and we both were laughing so hard. She will walk up to me and give me this little travisita smirk that always gets a smile out of me, the list is endless. She definately is my little comedian and my medicine through this sickness. I don't know what I would do without her.

Onto another subject now, Mia started doing something today that I thought was beyond cute. She is just like her Mama in the fact she doesn't really like dolls and babies so her little stuffed animals are her "babies". She has all the characters from Yo Gabba Gabba and an Elmo that she carries around. She always has to make sure that she has at least one in each hand.

Well today Mia brought over her Toodie and Muno and sat right between Adrian and I. I was talking to Adrian and something caught my attention. Mia was playing with her toys quietly then all of a sudden made them kiss and did the "Mwah" sound! It was too cute!! She did it a couple more times then ran off to play. Later in the evening she did it again this time with her Elmo and Plex. "Mwah". Awww.... I guess Mia wants to teach her toys that you give kisses to the one you love =)

Grandpa week #2!

Current mood: tired

I have been battling and battle this pregnancy sickness like crazy and I have been losing the battle. Luckily my Dad came to the rescue and offered to stay with us for a week to help with Mia and to give me some much needed rest. Of course I jumped at his offer so Grandpa Pizano stayed with us for this whole week and as always, its been lots of fun. I just wish I felt better.

As you probably remember from last week, in which Mia and I stayed in Oxnard for a week, I broke that blog down into days. So I think I will do that again... only I don't think this blog will be as long and there won't be as many pictures. I was sick remember! haha So here we go...

Day 1: Saturday
This was the day we left Oxnard and came back home. Mia slept the ENTIRE car ride home and didn't wake up once. That was a nice treat for my Dad and I, however, it backfired on us once we got home. Mia was all rested and through it was already past midnight she was on the move! Once it hit 1am I went to bed and for the first time ever, I went to bed before Mia did!! haha

Day 2: Sunday
This was a really bad sick day for me. I spent all day sleeping and sick on the couch. We didn't do much this day, but Adrian took Mia to the park for awhile and later to a store. He wanted to bond with his little munchkin again since he had not seen her in a week! Mia of course loved all the Daddy attention.

Day 3: Monday
My sickness was ok this day, and was mild enough for me to be able to make it out to the store. I really wanted to buy Mia her Easter dress before it go to much later. So my Dad, Mia and I headed off to Khols which is just down the road a bit. After shopping a bit we found the PERFECT Easter dress. I ran off to the dressing room to have Mia try it on and walked her back out so she could model for her Grandpa! All the older ladies nearby saw Mia and just melted! All of them commented on how cute she looked! I ended up buying that dress and another summer dress which I thought was really cute. Next was shoes... unfortunately they did not have her size in stock so her Grandpa came to the rescue again. He made a phone call and had the shoes ordered and they would be delivered at our house!! YAY!!!! They were the cutest little sandals too! They where white and had little white flowers all across them. I can't wait until they arrive. While my Dad was ordering the shoes I pushed Mia around the store in the little cart to keep her occupied. Then we came across some Elmo jammies and she went nuts!!!! She just HAD to have them so of course I had to obey and I put them in the cart. Sigh.. little spoiled Mia! haha After we were all done with our shopping we went home. By then the sickness was back and I needed some rest.. BADLY!

Day 4: Tuesday
This was another bad sick day for me so I didn't go anywhere, however, Mia got to go back to the park with her Daddy again!!! This time he brought her little trike and she had a blast being pushed around in it. Later my Dad took he to Cardenas with him to pick up some odds and ends. When they came back Mia was holding a Sponge Bob balloon!!!! My Dad explained, how she wanted a balloon in the store and when he asked the cashier how much they were, the cashier lady said "take the balloon, Shes just so cute!!" So they got it for FREE!!! The lady then got off her register just to walk up to Mia and talk to her!!! Mia of course acted shy and didn't even say hi, but she loved her new balloon!

Day 5: Wednesday
This day was a big day for us. I had a doctor's appointment for Mia's little sibling. Everything went very well and Mia stayed home with Grandpa. They had lots of fun together and as a reward later that night Mia gave my Dad a kissy! This is very special because she had never given my Dad a kissy willingly before! My Dad just melted! She ended up giving him 3 altogether! awwwww!

Day 6: Thursday
This was another fun day! Mia got to meet the Easter bunny again!!! I dressed her up in her new Easter dress and she looked so darling. After meeting the bunny we went over to the food court to pick up some food. Mia was holding her Grandpa's hand and walking when suddenly she caught the attention of a young boy sitting at a table. He took one look at her and started climbing all over the seat telling his brother who was sitting next to him "LOOK LOOK!!! A Princess!!!!!" He was pointing at Mia who was all dressed up in her Easter Dress looking cute! Once we got all our food we sat down. Of course Mia noticed a BIG balloon on the counter of one of the fast food places. She pointed at it and made her famous grunt of "I want that!" I tried to tell her no but a nearby worker heard me and said she could have the balloon! WOW! another free balloon! Mia was so happy to have the enormous balloon and carried it throughout the mall with her. Once we were done it was time to go home. Mia played and played with that giant orange balloon in the backseat. She was literally going nuts with it, screaming and laughing. Then the unavoidable happened... she threw the balloon and it floated to the front seat and of course floated right in front of my Dad who was driving!!! We were on the freeway too!! I quickly grabbed the balloon and refused to give it back to Mia. Of course Mia blew up for having her balloon taken away. I felt bad so I gave it back to her but told Adrian to make sure it didn't happen again. (He was sitting back there with her). Sure enough she attempted to do it again but we blocked it... sigh little Mia trying to get us killed! haha

Day 7: Friday
This day I was finally feeling somewhat better. My Dad would be leaving the next day so he wanted to make sure I had plenty of food to choose from if incase I got hungry. So it was HUGE cooking day for us! We made steaks, mashed potatoes, potato salad, my zuchinni soup, and rice. I am set!!! Later that day we went to Target so I could buy Mia an Easter basket for the Easter Egg hunt the next day. We found the Elmo basket I had seen earlier so I picked that up for her along with some other stuff for her basket. My Dad wanted to buy her a big basket full of goodies from him and my Mom but they didn't have any there. So we went off to Albertsons after, and they didn't have any good ones either. So my Dad dropped us off at home, got Mia ready for bed and once she was in bed zoomed off to Walgreens and found a HUGE basket to surprise her with the next day. Oh, I almost forgot to mention. Right before bedtime Mia and Grandpa were playing on the bed. Mia does this new thing where she puts her hands to her mouth and tires to make fart sounds (Hmm.... I wonder where she learned that from.. mwhahaha hahaha) I always crack up when she does it and I guess that encourages her more. However, this time she was doing it to her Grandpa and he was acting like it was the funniest thing he ever heard and laughed loudly. This made Mia crack up like I have never heard her do before!! She was laughing so loud and hardy we all started to laugh. She made the noise more and more and laughed histerically after each time! It was too funny and a great way to end the day... laughing and laughing.

Day 8: Saturday (the final day)
Well all good things eventually have to come to an end. Today was the final day my Dad would be with us. It was sad but we made sure to have some fun before he left. We took Mia out to TWO Easter Egg hunts and we all had a blast together. After we got back my Dad rested a bit then surprised Mia with her GIANT basket!!! She was all excited and had lots of fun tearing through the basket to get to her goodies!! It was lots of fun. Then came time for Grandpa to say goodbye. It was so sad!!!! We said our long goodbyes and watched him drive away. Mia of course was sad as normal and is currently down for a nap with her Daddy.

Overall my Dad helped so much!!!! He took full charge of Mia. He would get her up in the morning, cook her breakfast, play with her, lay her down for naps, cook her lunches, changed all her diapers (poopies included), made she was well taken care of, took her out on adventures and put her to bed at night. They really had some fun bonding time which I wouldn't trade anything for. I am so glad my Dad was here to help and on top of all that he made sure I was always fed, took care of me and babied me as well. It was an awesome visit! I can't wait for him to come back again!!! Hopefully I will be feeling better by then!

Mia's first official Egg Hunt x 2!

Current mood: happy

Easter is just around the corner now and Menifee (where we live) is celebrating it early!!! Adrian happened to be browsing around the internet when he came across a website that mentioned that they would be having a Easter Egg hunt AND pictures with the Easter Bunny this Saturday (today) down the road from our house! The event was FREE and was hosted by the local Mortuary. Ya I know!!!! At first I thought she would be hunting eggs within the cemetary itself, but it wasn't haha The event started at 10am so we all made plans to get up bright and early so we wouldn't miss out.

My Dad was still in town so he got to come with us, which was a HUGE treat for all of us. After running around a bit in the morning to get ready, we zoomed off to the Egg Hunt site.

There was literally about 100+ kids and parents there! A HUGE turn out! Bigger than we expected for our tiny little town. We got there just in time too! The event was just about to start. There were two big hay fields filled with eggs. One side was for the older kids, and the smaller side was for the little ones. The little ones had to be at least 2. Mia isn't two yet but she looks like three so we got away with it! haha

Daddy was going to go into the patch with Mia while Grandpa and I stood on opposite sides of the hay ready to take pictures. A loud voice came over the loud speaker getting people prepared for the count down... 5...4...3..2..1.. GO!!!

A massive horde of grabby little kids and parents jumped over the hay stacks and ran into the field. Mia was right behind them. Daddy and Mia tore apart all the hay and found TONS of eggs! The whole area was filled with screaming kids and Mia was right in the middle of it all finding little eggs and putting them in her Elmo basket.

When the hunt was over we got her out of the hay and had her walk around a bit. She was all proud of all the treasure she found and would not let her basket go for nothing!!! Then we happened to run into the Easter Bunny himself!!! Mia saw him and just stood there motionless. I told Mia to give the Easter Bunny a hug and after a bit of hesitation at first... she slowly went over to the Bunny and gave him a hug!! Awww!!!! Then she took off with her Basket filled with Egg loot and found a nice little grassy spot to sit down and play with the Eggs. Her Grandpa followed her while Adrian and I tried to figure out what we would do next.

As I walked back to where my Dad and Mia were I happened to get there right as this reporter walked up to them. She wanted to take Mia's picture for the local newspaper!! So we all stood together and took and picture together. That was a nice surprise. Afterwards we had Mia take another picture with the Easter Bunny (which was also FREE!) and we headed off to our next destination... another Easter Hunt place down the road in the Albertson's shopping center!

Albertsons was hosting a HUGE event right outside their store. They had booths, food, balloons, face painting, egg painting, petting zoo, jump for joy and yes another egg hunt!!!! We walked around a bit and to our luck we happened to just make it in time for their egg hunt too!!! But before that Mia was given a balloon which she loved!!! Unfortunately the balloon got away from her and she literally went running down the parking lot chasing it. She felt bad until another lady saw her without a balloon and gave Mia hers...awww how sweet! This time we tied it to her Easter basket so it wouldn't get away.

Their Easter Egg hunt was similar to the last one we just went to. They also had a hay lot full of plastic eggs and they also sectioned it so only the little ones find eggs together and the bigger kids go later. This time Grandpa wanted to help Mia find eggs. So Daddy stood on one side of the hay, I on the other, both armed with cameras.

This hay area was much smaller than the other one and there was a TON of kids! Soon the voice came over the loud speaker and everyone got ready. Anxious little ones, holding their baskets were eager to dive into the hay. Mia was right there in the middle of it all the madness waiting as well! Then it was time to go and ZOOM! all the kids barreled out into the hay.

Grandpa and Mia pushed their way into the hay and found a nice spot to find eggs! Mia was looking all over with the help of Grandpa and they found a few eggs together! YAY! Mia even tried to steal an egg from a little kid!!! haha Soon all the eggs were gone and the hunt was over. Mia was all proud of her new stash and carried her Elmo basket proudly.

Soon music started playing and Mia and her Grandpa shared alittle Easter Egg dance! We all were having so much fun. Then we noticed the petting zoo so we took Mia over there to check it out. They had ducks, baby chicks, a chicken and rabbits running around. Mia went inside with her Grandpa and immediately ran over to the baby chicks in the bucket. She pointed at them happily and jibber jabbered to them. Then my Dad brought her over to a sleeping bunny in the corner. Mia got a kick out of petting the rabbit then of course she stood up and kicked it!!!! OH NO!!!! We quickly took her away from the bunny, sanitized her hands and left!

We then went home to rest a bit, however, the celebration was not over yet!!! Grandpa Easter Bunny surprised her with a HUGE Easter basket full of goodies from himself and Grandma!!! Mia was shocked by it and quickly dove inside the plastic to retrieve her goodies. She got a small dog that you could dress up in clothes, a purse and of course CANDY!!!! She had a blast opening her basket!

Overall today has been awesome... lots of fun. Though it was a bit on the warm side, I was still feeling sick and all of us being tired it was well worth it. I had so much fun and I can't wait to do it again!!!

89 weeks!

Happy Friday Everyone... well whats left of it anyways. Its 11pm and I just now have some time to jot some stuff down.

This week has been a whirlwind week for sure! My sickness was really bad towards the beginning and middle of this week and only these past two days it was actually somewhat tolerable. Thankfully I have had my Dad here to help me all week and its been AWESOME! We always enjoy his visits.

So with that being said, yes, there will be another week long review blog coming soon... just not tonight. Tomorrow is my Dad's last day here so I am going to wait until tomorrow to write it.

So before I go, I will mention some cute little tid bits that happened this week. She got to meet the Easter Bunny for the 2nd time and she did great. Didn't smile but the picture still came out really cute. She spent TONS of time with Grandpa Pizano and as a reward she finally gave him a kissy! Ya I never even knew that she never has until my Dad mentioned it. She also got a free balloon from Cardenas for being so cute! haha (Cashiers words exactly).

There is so much more to mention but you are just going to have to wait until tomorrow when I write another epic week in review blog. Plus she might be going Easter Egg Hunting tomorrow!!! Hopefully her sibling will let that happen and give me another good day!

Mia meets the Easter Bunny.... again!

Current mood: sick

Its that time of year again... the Easter Bunny has hopped into town. We are trying to make it a family tradition that Mia not only takes a photo with Santa during Christmas time, but also takes a photo with the Easter Bunny during Easter time.

Since my Dad is only in town for a couple more days, I made it my mission to make sure he got to see his little Granddaughter take her special picture. I have been fighting the pregnancy sickness forever! and it still has a horrible hold over me. However, I knew today was the day no matter what, Mia was going to meet the bunny!!!

So I took one of my sickness pills, popped in a Preggie Pop, and with my sea-bands on both wrists I was ready to go. I still felt awful but I was not going to let it get to me... I was on a mission!

Last year, we had to go to Riverside (almost an hour away) to the Tyler Mall in order to meet the Bunny. I wasn't looking forward to that drive AT ALL! Luckily Adrian came to the rescue and found out that the Bunny was also at the closer Temecula Mall! YAY! So we loaded up the car and off to the mall the four of us went... well 5 if you include the little baby in my tummy haha.

Once we got to the mall I dressed Mia in her cute new Easter Dress! Yes it was in the parking lot but we did it quickly. We rushed over to the bunny and there he was... sitting on his throne! This bunny looked alot different from last years bunny. Infact he looked more like a dog that a rabbit but I didn't care, with Mia in the picture no one would pay any attention to the rodent... err... rabbit anyways! haha

Adrian put Mia on the Bunny's lap while my Dad and I were shooting video and taking picture of our own. Mia did great as always, didn't even get scared. She still refused to smile, but that is pretty typical for Mia. She just stared. The Bunny helpers tried and tried to get her to laugh but she wouldn't budge. They even tried tickling her with what looked like a giant feather duster and that didn't work. At one point they started using this clappy thing in her face and Mia got mad and gave the lady the meanest look!! Eventually after taking a TON of pictures we decided she had enough. She got a lollipop treat and off we went to pick out the picture we wanted.

Overall the experience was fun as always. You never know what to expect with little Mia. I am just glad she cooperated and we got a nice picture out of it... and I am grateful that she didn't end up pulling on the whiskers like she did to the Bunny last year! haha

A Fun week in Oxnard

Current mood: sick

I am really going to do my best not to rush this too much, but I am feeling so sick right now. I know if I don't get to this now I may never and all the little stories that I want to share may be lost since my memory is so horrible. So here we go.. its a race against my upset stomach!!!

DAY 1: (Monday)
My Dad came into town mid Sunday so we could leave to Oxnard early Monday. Well that didn't work out. I woke up so sick that we had to postpone our trip till mid-afternoon. Once my stomach stopped doing flips we loaded up the car and off we went on our adventure. This was the first time Mia would be away from her Dada for more than 2 days in Mia history! He was very sad to say goodbye but he knew it was for our own good. I needed to get some rest and Mia needed an adventure!

My Dad and I weren't quite sure what to expect on our trip, since Mia is notorious for making long distance trips difficult. To both of our amazement she did EXTREMELY well! She never cried once and for the first time in Mia history she didn't even sleep in the car the whole 2.5 hrs! WOW! I treated her with her Elmo DVD the closer we got to home since she was such a good girl. We made the whole trip without a single stop!

Once we made it to my parents house, we got Mia off the car and she went completely nuts exploring her new environment. She had a blast going into each room, picking up toys as she went along and just being Mia.

Later in the day my Dad needed to go to the store to pick up some milk for her. Mia only drinks "Swiss" milk (the others tend to make her sick) but Swiss isn't sold everywhere. So my Dad ended up going to 6! stores before he finally located Mia's milk. Boy talk about a quest! but Mia was happy to have her milk and she even got a new sippy cup too!

While my Dad was out getting her milk, I decided Mia needed a nap. She was whinning a bit and I knew she had not slept all day. So I laid her down in my parents bed and she knocked right out! I only let her sleep 30mins since I knew her bedtime wasn't to far away. I didn't think that 30 mins would affect her very much but boy was I wrong. Mia didn't end up getting sleepy again until past midnight!!!! OMG! She never ever stays up that late!

Later in the evening my Dad set up the lap top and played some of her Yo Gabba Gabba shows. Mia went nuts! I have never seen her get so excited over Gabba before. She literally screamed with joy and had the biggest smile on her face! It was almost like she couldn't believe her favorite show was being played somewhere away from home.

She later went to bed without a fuss in the pack in play in the spare room. She didn't even cry at all though she did lay away for a long while... darn that earlier nap

DAY TWO: (Tuesday)
Tuesday was pretty fun. It was unseasonably HOT that day and unfortunately since I was not expecting the heat I only packed Mia warm clothes. So we didn't take her out. She didn't mind much though she loved to play indoors... her favorite game was kick Slyvester (my parent's cat... poor kitty)

Nap time was fun. This time it was my Dad, myself and Mia on my Dads bed. My Dad kept trying to get her to lay down and go to sleep but I was secretly tickling her so she would go nuts. It was lots of fun. Eventually she started to calm down and my Dad was glad to see that, then Mia threw her stuffed flower at me. So I threw it back and soon it turned into a flower tossing fighting against myself and Mia! My Dad had to stop us and made Mia go to sleep. Hahaha Mama and daughter, always causing mischief!

Later in the evening there wasn't much to watch on TV so I decided to put on American Idol. I figured she might like the music and dance. She didn't care for the show much at first and it wasn't until the very last performer did she actually show interest. Once the girl took the stage Mia lit up because she saw the guitar the girl was holding. (Mia LOVES guitars) She screamed touched the TV and smiled. Once the girl started singing Mia started dancing. She didn't dance her normal "Stiff legged" dance she actually started getting down! She was shaking her hips back and forth HARD and making the cutest noise! She danced and danced for the entire song! We all got a kick out of that.I had not seen her dance like that in about 6 months or longer!

DAY THREE: (Wednesday)
It was another hot day, so hot that Mia started to show signs of Heat Rash. So I decided she needed a bath. My Dad helped me set up the tub and into the bath she went. Mia LOVES baths and had a blast playing with the toys I brought from home and splashing around. Once she got out and I lotioned her up her heat rash went away and she felt better. Like I mentioned before, Mia didn't have any cool clothes to wear so we put on one of my Moms tank tops on her to keep her cool. That little tank top was like a gown on Mia but it kept her cool and Mia loved running around in it.

We also learned that Mia hates opened doors! No matter how hot it got in the house, she refused to leave the front or back doors open. At one point I was roasting and I tried to stop her but I couldn't. So I put a big heavy cat scratch pole in front of it, trying to detour her. That didn't work. As heavy as the pole was she lifted it up, moved it out of the way then slammed the door closed. Sigh... so ya we roasted on the hot days.

Another amazing thing we noticed is... my parent's cat Dinky is afriad of Mia. This may not seem to be very spectaular but for anyone who knows Dinky knows how she is around little kids. Ever since my little cousin was little (She is 16 now) she has scratched and clawed every little kid that has walked in her path. She is very aggressive towards kids and attacks them all.... all but Mia. For some reason, when Mia is around Dinky runs for cover and hides. Mias has even kicked her a couple of times and Dinky just runs away. Wow! We think its because Mia shows no fear around the cat and because of that Dinky is scared of Mia. Dinky knows she cannot intimidate her. So Mia never got the wrath of Dinky and was never scratched.

Mia also did a very cute thing this day. She now gives kisses on demand. Before she would but only if you were holding her. Now if you tell her to go kiss someone she will run over and kiss them!!! She did that to me a couple of times and I just melted! It melted her Grandma too!

DAY FOUR: (Thursday)
The weather finally started to cool down so Mia got to play out in the front yard with Grandpa for awhile. She loved exploring and picking flowers. At one point she found a puffy dandilion and blew on it. She loved to watch all the litlte flying seeds around her... up until they started landing on her face. She didn't like that much.

She also went out on a little adventure with her Grandpa and came back with... yep some candy! haha She didn't eat it though she just liked playing with the wrapper.

Later that afternoon we got a surprise visit from her Great-Grandpa Pizano! He stopped by to see us and to say hi. He commented on how pretty Mia is and how she still studies everything. It was great seeing them together, he had not seen her since Oct. of last year!

This is the day she did the most amazing thing of all! It topped everything she had done so far throughout the week. She started to count!!! I wrote about this earlier in more detail. She made it all the way up to seven! We were all shocked and so proud of her. She did it while watching her Elmo show, on Grandpa's lap at the kitchen table. She did it a couple of times more before she got bored with it and ran off. I am still in shock over this!

DAY FIVE: (Friday)
We were planning on heading back home this day but my sickness was at an all time high. I could not leave the house so we decided to stay an extra day. Mia didn't mind it just meant more fun time with Grandpa and Grandma.

I took her in the backyard to play for awhile and she went nuts collecting dandilions and exploring. She loved running all over the place.

We got another surprise visit this day. My cousin Leanna stopped by real fast to drop of her birthday invitation. She is turning 11. She brought her little dog Max with her (a little yorkie) and Mia fell in love with the dog. At one point she was petting the dog with one hand and Slyvester the cat in the other. Then she started to kick the dog so we had to take her away. Sigh.... little Mia.

DAY SIX: (Saturday)
This was the final day in Oxnard. It was sad. Unfortunately the sickness hit hard again so we didn't leave until late at night.

During the day I decided to take a nap with Mia. I laid her in my parents bed and we both ended up sleeping together for 2 hrs!!! That was a first, I had not slept in the same bed with Mia EVER! It was a nice treat for me. Eventually I woke up and had to eat so I tried to wake up Mia but she refused to wake up! I let her sleep a bit longer but when it hit the 3rd hour I finally decided to wake her up despite her refusal. I am glad I did too because she ended up having a pee pee accident in my parents bed!!! OH NO!!!

The drive home was great. She slept the ENTIRE trip and didn't wake up until we pulled into the garage. The only bad thing was when she did wake up she was ready to go and after it hit 1am I went to bed and she was still up running around! I am not sure when exactly she went to bed but I know it was pretty late.

BTW Dada was so happy to see his little sunshine too! He was beaming so much and couldn't wait to hold her again. It was great seeing them together again.

Thats it! Our trip was lots of fun, I just wish I wasn't so sick. I spent most of my time laying on the couch but I did get some much needed rest and yes... when Mia wasn't around I did get spoiled too! haha It was a nice little vacation and I can't wait to do it again. Hopefully this time Dada can be there too!

88 Weeks!

Current mood: sick

Happy Friday Everyone!!! Another weeks gone by, another blog to write.

This week has been special. Mia and I are here in Oxnard for the week on a "vacation" haha. I have been so extremely sick from being pregnant that I needed some extra help. So Mia and I came here to Oxnard so I can rest and she gets can play with her Grandparents. I am going to dedicate my next big blog to our visit and detail all the cute things that have happened. So without risk of repeating myself I will just point out a couple of new things she did this week. The rest of the stories you will have to read in the next blog (which I will write probably tomorrow when we go back home to Riverside).

This week is the first time Mia has been away from her Daddy for more than 2 days! He misses her like crazy and calls me every afternoon to check up on how she is doing. I love sharing all the new stories with him.

Mia also did a HUGE amazing thing this week! She showed us all that she can count up to 7!!!! She was watching her Elmo show on her Grandpa's lap at the dinning room table and she started repeating all the numbers Elmo said!!! We were so proud of her!!

The drive up here to Oxnard was great too! For the first time in Mia history she didn't sleep or cry at all!!! YAY! I think she likes my Dad's driving haha

Overall the visit has been great and lots of fun. I am getting lots of rest and though I still have good and bad days with the sickness, being here really has helped so much. Well I am feeling a bit queasy right now so I am going to go rest. Stay tuned for my next big blog that will be all about our trip!!!

Mia counts 1 thru 7!!!!!!!

Current mood: shocked

The amazing Mia strikes again!!!! She shocked us all, yesterday, by her latest amazing feat! She can actually count! I am not talking about 1 and 2 I am talking about counting all the way to 7!! We are so proud of her. Heres how it happened...

This whole week Mia and I have been on "vacation", just the two of us. We are here in Oxnard with my parents (Mia's Grandparent Pizano). Yesterday, she was sitting on her Grandpa's lap at the dinning room table. My Dad had set up the laptop for her to watch her Elmo shows on. She was just sitting there relaxing drinking her milk cup.

Then a section of the show came on where they count fish one by one. Immediately she stopped drinking her milk, took the straw out of her mouth and started counting all on her own! My Mom and I were in the livingroom not really paying attention to what she was doing. Then my Dad quickly got our attention and said "Oh my goodness shes counting!" My Mom and I quickly stopped what we were doing and looked at Mia. My Dad replayed the Elmo part again and sure enough we heard...

Elmo: "One"
Mia: "Un.."
Elmo: "Two"
Mia: "Tu"
Elmo: "Three"
Mia: "fee"
Elmo" "Four"
Mia: "Four" (as clear as can be)
Elmo: "Five"
Mia: "th..a" (she had trouble with this one)
Elmo: "Six"
Mia: "Six" (clear as can be)
Elmo: "Seven"
Mia: "seevnn"

I was so shocked... completely speachless and overwhelmingly happy and excited!!! We all cheered for her and she did it again and again!!!! YAY MIA!!!! I quickly called her Daddy to share the news with him and he was just as excited as we were!

My little girl, not even 2 and already counting!!!! I can't wait to see what she does next!

Ps. I am so glad that all that Elmo watching is paying off... man that little red monster drives me crazy!

Baby D and Adan’s Big Bash in SD

Current mood: exhausted

*Yawn* boy am I pooped!!! Wow, what a fun filled day in ....San Diego..... Today was Mia’s cousin Baby D 2nd Birthday Party and Cousin Adan’s 3rd Birthday Party. We all have been looking forward to attending the big bash, but I was unsure if I would be well enough to make it. My pregnancy sickness has been in full force lately and it has me on the ropes. However, my hopes were raised a bit since the last couple of days my sickness was mild. I was excited to be able to go and even went to bed extra early the night before so I could be well rested for our big day. Unfortunately, the moment I woke up in the morning the sickness was bad TWO FOLD! OMG I was dying. I was so upset that I would not be able to make it down for the parties. I laid on the couch most of the morning fighting with my stomach and feeling miserable. Then ....Adrian.... woke up and I broke the news to him that I would not be able to make it with him and Mia. He was sad, I was sad… Mia didn’t know what was going on. I moped a bit then made a decision against my better judgement! I didn’t care how I felt I WAS going to go to the party and have fun if it was the last thing I do!

So we all got ready and out the door we went. I felt alright on the road, a bit better from earlier but still bleh. Mia did GREAT on the road, she didn’t fuss once and slept most of the way (which is a rare treat for us). By the time we hit ....San Diego.... a horrible headache OH NO! but wasn’t too queasy.. thank goodness. Once we got to the party I was alright but the strange thing was I was more queasy when I got off the car than driving in it.

Everyone was so happy to see Mia again. She hasn’t made a family appearance since Thanksgiving so it was a big treat for all of us. She was a bit shy at first and refused to walk into the crowded kitchen so Daddy had to pick her up and take her inside. Right away everyone commented on how cute her hair was. It was all poofed out and curly. I didn’t do this on purpose, infact the more I tried to fix it the more poofy and curly it got!! We said hi to the family and had a great vist. We even got to meet the newest member of the family.. Baby Gabby (a tad bit over a month old). She was so tiny and sooooo ADORABLE! It really got me excited about our little baby on the way.

We all went outside for a bit to get some food. Mia was greeted by her biggest fan, her cousin Brianna! Brianna adores Mia and always acts like a little Mama around her. She was even feeding Mia fruit and Mia liked the attention. Brianna became Mia’s little shadow for awhile and even tried to help her get into the Jump-for-joy. We had to stop them because with the amount of kids already bouncing around in there Mia would more certainly get trampled on.

Daddy bounced Mia on the outside of the jump for joy a bit and soon it was Pinata time!!! Mia got to take a few wacks at it and some even by herself! She seemed to LOVE it and smiled and laughed. When her turn was over she got MAD and refused to give up the stick. It was quite a challenge to get that stick away from her. When the Pinata was finally broken apart Mia and her Dada ran into the pile of kids and grabbed candy. Mia loved to put little candies in her little bag but was upset that all the kids around her were picking them up faster than she could! So it was her Cousin Brianna who came to her rescue and picked up some candy for Mia and put it in her bag for her. Awww…. After that Pinata was destroyed they brought out another one. Mia got to hit that one too but wasn’t to interested in it since she rather hold her candy bag. She became obessed with that little candy bag and refused to let it go. She loved taking each candy out one by one, lick it then put it back in the bag! Haha Eventually the other kids destroyed that other Pinata and candy went flying. Adrian and Mia ran in again and this time ....Adrian.... picked up a huge hand full and brought it to alittle grassy area away from the crowd. He placed the candy on the ground so Mia could pick them up. She had fun doing that and was even more happy she could do it at her own pace without having little kids taking away the candy.

After the Pinata it was cake time. We got to sing Happy Birthday to Baby D and Adan and later Daddy and Mia shared a piece of chocolate cake! Yummm! Mia played a bit more and ran around and had fun. Later she got on the swing chair in the back yard and she LOVED it! Little kids were pushing her on it and she was laughing and screaming and got so excited she started to shake! Haha We couldn’t get her off of it for anything. She eventually stayed on the chair so long she started to fall asleep!!! Haha

The rest of the visit went great. We had lots of fun catching up and chatting with family. Everyone congratulated us on the new baby too and it was great to finally be able to talk about it. Eventually it got late and it was time to go home. We put Mia’s jammies on and off to home we headed.

Mia stayed awake most of the ride home, reading street signs (aaa-see) (that’s how she reads all letters) and talking. At one point she even started to sing, it was really cute. We knew she was really happy and had lots of fun. Eventually she fell asleep and we made it home. I gave her a little snack and off to bed she went.

Wow what a fun filled day. My eyes are burning now because I am so tired so I need to get some rest. I just wanted to write a quick blog about the fun we had today!

Week 87!

Current mood: exhausted

I am so ready for bed, both Mia and her little baby sibling did a number on me today. Though I am drained I did want to write a quick blog before I hit the sack. Its Friday and you know what that means... Mia's weekly blog update.

Unfortunately, I have been EXTREMELY sick this whole week. Most days I was too sick to even take care of Mia. On those days her Daddy jumped in and helped, so they both spend tons of quality time together. He took her out shopping with him, took her to the park TONS of times and just hung out with her.

A cute story did happen this week though. One day as I was hunched over the armrest of our couch, so horribly sick, Mia came over to me and patted me on the face with her little blanket. Her little way of trying to comfort me. I thought it was so sweet. I know she knows I am not feeling good because she rarely leaves my side anymore. If I get up from the couch she follows me everywhere like a little shadow. She jibber jabbers to me all the time and is always laying on me. I think she is trying to show me that everything will be ok and that she loves me...awwww

Mia hit 20 weeks old this week which is HUGE! and she grew in all her front teeth!! YAY! All she needs now is the second molar set. So YAY no more teething for awhile.

I really don't have too many new stories to write about. Like I mentioned I haven't been to active this week. Hopefully next week I will be feeling better. I know for sure I will have new stories to share because for the first time in Mia history, we are taking a week vacation (just the two of us) to Oxnard!!! I am sure that will be fun, unless I am to sick to enjoy myself. Either way, Mia will get to see her Grandparents and Cousins, Nina, and Nino again so thats a huge treat.

Ok I am off to bed now, night night! zzzzzzzzzzzzzz......

Mia hits the Big 20 months!

Current mood: accomplished

Thats right, my little Butterfly Princess just hit 20 months!!! Only a few more months before she is 2! I can't believe it myself! She is growing up so fast, I can hardly keep up!

Its that time again for her monthly summary so I better get started!

SUMMARY:

Mia love to eat "fuzzies" a.k.a. lint ff her blankets

Celebrated her 2nd Valentines Day

Is becoming more hyper, especially on the couch

The three of us went to a new park down the road

Putting her hands up and down and saying "Up" "Down"

Copies the Roadrunner and says "Mwap Mwap" (her version of "Beep Beep")

Head bangs to "Crazy Frog"

Learned how to spin in circles

Knows how to move the mouse so the media player bar is no longer on the TV

Has officially grown in all her front teeth (happened this week) all she needs now is her secondary molars. The count is 16/20 she grew 4 of them this month alone!

Had some fun visits from Grandpa and Grandma Pizano and Grandma Santos

Likes to pop bubbles with her mouth

Finished going "poopies" on her potty (clothes on but she sat down on the potty all by herself)

Made the announcement that Mia is going to be a Big Sister

Mia got to see her baby sibling (via ultra-sound picture) for the first time

Grandpa Pizano came down for another visit for almost a week, YAY!

Mia got to meet the Red Robin and she wasn't scared!

Mia has become more clingy to me.. I think because I am pregnant and always sick

Mia tries to console me by patting me in the face with her treasured blanket

No longer plays by herself she always has to be sitting by my side

Tries to help Mama during diaper changes, including trying to use a wipee! haha

Sings the chorus of "Ol McMia" (Old Mc Donald) she says "ay ay ay ay aaay" during her part of the song

Is starting to love more Beatles Songs and gets mad when you turn them off

Points to eyes (and says eyes), nose, mouth, ears and hair when asked

Goals met from last month?
Well becoming horribly sick didn't help meeting some goals this month. I no longer take Mia for morning walks (for obvious reasons), and I no longer cook for her since the smell sends me running out of the room.. so no new menu ideas this month. She is still refusing to talk though I know she can because she says random words here and there...well random to us but not to her I guess haha. She is getting better with diaper changes and only recently has been standing next to the changing room after she goes poopies.

Goals for next month:
Hopefully get ahold of this pregnancy sickness so I can start spending more quality time with Mia and taking her out more, getting her to communicate better, and say a new word

Aww the tables are turned.. Mia takes care of Mama

Current mood: loved

For anyone who knows Mia knows how possessive she is of her special blankets. She doesn't allow ANYONE to cuddle them let alone touch them. Even if shes not using it, if she catches you holding one of her many special blankets (their are currently 5) she will run over to you, rip it away and throw it on the floor just to make sure you don't have it. Ya, its that bad. So its a known fact NEVER mess with Mia's blankeys. (This has been going since before she could even crawl)

So today I was having a very bad morning sickness day. It was more like ALL day horrible sickness day. I was completely unfunctionable and Adrian had to take care of Mia most of the day. Nothing would settle my stomach and I just felt awful.

I later came downstairs and sat on the couch. I hunched over the arm rest just feeling bleh and horrible. Adrian was on the other side of the couch and Mia was in the middle. For some reason Mia was extra hyper and was literally rolling all over the couch, laughing and bouncing around. Usually I provoke her to get more excited and play with her, but not today.. I was too sick.. so I just laid there motionless and facing the other way.

Then Mia noticed and flopped on my back. She poked her head around so we were facing each other and with the biggest smile on her face she took her favorite green pooh blanket and started patting my face with it just like she does to herself when she soothes herself!!! I just melted!!! My little girl was trying to comfort me the only way she knew how. I thanked her and she clapped all happy. Then she did it again and again, she seemed to really like it. When I tried to turn my head away she would grab it with one hand, make me face her and she would pat me some more with her little blanket. It was the cutest thing ever!!! I felt so loved and it actually even made me feel alittle better.

Awww my little daughter does love me and she wants me to feel better. I love my little Mia so much!

Week 86!

Current mood: sick

Wow what a crazy crazy week it has been. Thankfully I had my Dad down for most of it and he helped out TONS! Of course little Ms. Mia was spoiled rotten during her Grandpa visit but that's pretty much what always happens haha.

Unfortunately, for me, the pregnancy sickness has really set in. I don't know if I can officially say its worse than when I was pregnant with Mia but it is pretty awful and pretty close. I can't rest the same way I used too because I have little Mia running around and that makes things pretty challenging. So most of the time I spend with Mia is spent on the couch sick and I think Mia is starting to notice the difference in the way I am acting. Now she no longer plays with her toys and is always by my side. She wants to constantly cuddle with me and has become my little shadow. I feel bad since I can't play with her the way I used to because I am so sick but hopefully this is all short lived and I will back to my ol' self by my second trimester (in April)

Mia used her potty for the first time too!! well sorta... One morning after breakfast she started to show the normal signals of her going poopies. I asked her if she was and instead of running away or shaking her head "no" like she always does, she actually walked over to her potty and sat down in it and finished there! I was shocked and amazed, granted she still had all her clothes on but she got the concept of it. I was so proud of my little munchkin

The rest of the week was spend being spoiled by her Grandpa. We went out to eat at Red Robin and went shopping a couple of times with her Grandpa. She got a new BIG purple ball to play with and was spoiled with all kinds of treats.

This week was a very special week for our little family. We got to see Mia's sibling via ultra-sound for the first time AND got to hear their heartbeat! It was amazing! The baby is doing great, which is a huge blessing, and we even got to show Mia her first glimpse of her soon to be sibling. She looked at the picture and examined it a bit and even actually pointed at the baby in the middle. It was so cute!

Well like I mentioned before, I am pretty sick all the time, including right now so I am going to go rest. The caserole just finished cooking in the oven so I am about to go munch on that too. Overall the week has been great and I couldn't be happier than I am at this very moment =)

Some fun filled few days with Grandpa!

Current mood: happy

Thats right! Mia has been officially spoiled rotten again by her Grandpa Pizano, and she is lovin' it to the max!

We had invited my Dad down a few days so he could help babysit and watch Mia while we went to our baby doctor appointment earlier in the week. Of course my Dad jumped at the opportunity to see Mia again and was down here in a flash.

So the next few days were filled with fun, laughter, jumping, and spoilness. Mia's little baby sibling has been making me horribly sick lately so any extra help around the house and with Mia was very much appreciated and welcomed. So it was my Dad who took care of Mia the most. He fed her breakfast, lunch and dinner... changed all her diapers (including the horribly stinky little ball ones haha) , sang to her, played with her and put her to bed. Mia just goes nuts when hes around. She could care less if her Dada or Mama are around, its all about Grandpa Grandpa Grandpa.

When my Dad first arrived, on Tuesday evening, we were all sitting on the couch. As soon as my Dad walked through our front door, Mia sat up gave this huge smile and as soon as she saw him walk into the livingroom she couldn't get off the couch fast enough to go greet him. She jumped off the couch and ran over to him with her arms up for him to pick her up! She was so excited and happy to see him again. She didn't leave his side the rest of the visit. Ya, Mia loves her Grandpa!

The next day we went to our doctors appointment while Mia and Grandpa stayed at home and played. Everything checked out GREAT at our appointment and I even got to show Mia the ultra-sound picture of her new little brother/sister! The next day we all went down to Red Robin to celebrate. Mia did great at the restaurant and her Grandpa made sure she got not 1 or 2 but 3 balloons! (Two of them ended up flying away though) It was a great time, until I got horribly sick and had to be rushed home haha Joys of pregnancy!

Later that night her Grandpa took her to Target with him to pick up some odds and ends. When they came back I greeted them in the garage. I was shocked to see Mia in her carseat holding the BIGGEST purple ball I have ever seen! I could barely see Mia! My Dad said she wanted the ball so bad and kept reaching out for it in the store. Eventually he gave in and gave it to her and her eyes and face lit up so big! She was so happy with her ball!! She walked into our house holding that massive ball, found her Red Robin balloon and started carrying both around the house. She was as happy as can be. She ate her blueberry muffin treat and later went to bed.

Today my Dad wanted to spoil me by making me my favorite beef caserole. So he took off to the store to buy the stuff for it, and of course he took Mia with him. (He LOVES taking her out). When they got back she was carrying the biggest bagel I have ever seen!! That thing was bigger than her head! but she ate almost the whole thing. My girl can eat! haha

Overall the visit was great, of course she broke out into tears and crying as she watched him drive away and is still pretty sad he is gone. But we know he will be back soon and we all can't wait!

Mia is going to be a Big Sister!!!!

Current mood: excited

Yay the word is finally out!!! (after a month of secrecy).... I am PREGNANT! again! YAY! We have planned to make Mia a big sister for awhile but, unfortunately, we did have a miscarriage in Sept which delayed things a bit. I needed alot of time for both physical and emotional recovery from that. Then the big time came again... time to try. Of course since I get pregnant so easily, we got to actually pick and choose when and even where it would happen haha

So long story short, we got pregnant in Las Vegas on our Anniversary trip, and found out on Feb. 3rd. I decided to wait to tell friends and family until after our first pre-natal appointment, which was today. Everything checked out great and Mia should be expecting her new sibling mid- Oct!!!!! YAY!!!!!! We are so excited and so happy!!!!

I framed our little ultra-sound picture of "Pumpkin" and had Mia look at it and examine it herself. She was very intrigued by the little image and even pointed to her little sibling. She then carried that little frame all around the house with her, and got mad when I finally had to take it away from her.

I am so happy, we all are. I am happy to finally be able to give Mia the sibling she so deserves!!! We are on our way!!!!
