Current mood: happy
Little Mia is officially 18 weeks now. I still find each week she gets older, harder and harder to believe. She is changing so much so fast. I have a little picture frame in her room that has a space for 1 picture every month and when I look at it, I am amazed at what I am looking at. I hardly even recognize the earlier pictures... my little one is growing up!!!
Well since she turned 4 months a few days ago and I wrote a epic blog on that, I really don't have to much more to report. I guess I can give some updates.
Her eczema has unfortunately gotten a little bit worse. I managed to cure the spot on her forehead but then it started to spread to the other side. I started working on that then it would spread to her nose, then cheek. It felt like every day she woke up it was in a new place and the old place was cured. It was almost like I was chasing it all around her face. There is a bright side though, today was the first day she woke up with NONE! YAY!!! And the two big patches on her feet, which were really inflamed, are about 90% gone too! YAY! I hope this celebration isn't pre-mature, but I will be keeping a close eye on her. I just feel so bad that every night after her bath she ends up with 4 different creams and lotions on. I use the aquafour on her face and arms, cortisone for her feet, johnson and johnson's bedtime lotion for her body, and A&D for her little bootie buns (to prevent diaper rash which she has yet to experience). Hopefully this will all be temporary.
As for her possible reaction to her recently shots, she never got any! YAY! She never had a fever, never got unusually fussy, or lethargic. What a trooper! We didn't even need to give her Tylenol at all. The only thing she got was a tiny bruise at one injection sight but other than that there is nothing wrong. I just hope her next round in Jan. we are lucky again.
One big thing that happened this week is she has officially retired her binky! Yep she hung it up haha. I have tried to give it to her at night (she only really used it to help her sleep) but she just spits it out and goes to sleep on her own without it. She never needs it during the day or her daytime naps. The big test is the car, when I take her out on my own she doesn’t need it but when we go places as family she takes it to help her fall asleep. I am torn about this, I mean the binky did makes things easier when putting her to sleep but if she doesn't want it I can't force her.. just another sign of her growing up.
Her teeth have been bothering her more and more at night I have noticed. So she isn't getting the straight rest she used to. She doesn’t wake up fully but she whines a lot out of nowhere and cries out. When I go to check on her she is usually asleep with her fingers in her mouth. Guess it’s time to make more of an effort to give her more baby orajel at night, though she hates it and cries when I try to give it to her. She is however, using her teething rings more and has learned to reach out and grab them when she wants them. She bites on them, takes them out and looks at them, then bites down on them again. Its really cute to watch her. Well that’s about it for this week. I am sure by next week I will be writing a lot more on new things she’s doing
