Current mood: accomplished
Thats right, its that day once again... Friday! and Mia has turned 42 weeks old! She has had a fun busy week as always and the week included a milestone!
The week started bitter-sweet. After a week of fun with Grandpa Pizano, it was time for him to go home. We all were sad to see him leave but knew that he will visit again soon so that made things alittle better. Before he left, he made sure to spend some extra play time with Mia... chasing her around the floor, tickling her and making her laugh.
The next day, Adrian, Mia and myself went off to the Temecula Mall to check out the new section they just finished building. It was fun pushing her around the Mall and she seemed to really enjoy herself. The best part for us was definately hearing all the compliments she was getting from different people there. We were all proud of our little angel.
As the week progressed, she started to become Ms. Fuss Fuss again.. Oh no! Not really sure what brought that on but luckily it wasn't long before she perked up again. We did however, have a pretty rough day once.. where she wouldn't stop whining and crying. No matter what we were doing she wasn't happy, she didn't actually cheer up until the next day!! Poor baby, probably didn't feel good or just woke up on the wrong side of the crib that day.
Another thing Adrian and I have notice recently is that Mia is starting to get clingy to me! This is odd because she is such a "Daddy's Little Girl". However, I noticed ever since my Dad was visiting and after she has been really clingy to me. She HATES it if she sees me walk away from her and always cries, even if shes with Daddy. If she sees me walk away she bursts out with "Mama!" or just cries until I come back. She is constantly crawling to me to have me pick her up. And surprisenly she even wants to sit and cuddle with me now while we watch TV. I don't know why the change but I am not complaining!! I enjoy knowing my little one wants to be with me. I've craved the attention she shows Adrian and for her to finally do that to me makes me happy.
Another thing she started doing this week is carrying things in her hands as she crawls. She will pick up a toy, play with it then crawl around with it in her hand to take it somewheres else. Now she has learned to carry her blankey like that too! She reminds me of Linus from Charlie Brown. She is constantly holding or dragging her blankey everywheres. Even when she stands up she picks her blankey off the ground and holds it with one hand. Its really cute.
Her and Daddy took a Daddy/Daughter trip to BestBuy earlier this week as well. Both had lots of fun while Mama sat at home missing her baby girl. She got some compliments there as well and when they came home I ran to greet them. I couldn't wait to pick up my little one and hold her again. Ya I know I am so attached!
A first she did this week was she ate a pair. Not baby food pair but an actual pair! She LOVES to munch on things and when Daddy fed her a Pair she took the opprotunity to test out her tiny chompers and love biting into it. She has had alot of practice using her chompers when Daddy feeds her, her popsicals.
Ok on to a not so fun thing. Mia had another diaper blow out this week. It was so not fun to say the least. It happened in the parking lot of Cardenas in Perris! Without going back into the gorey detail of it all (you can read all about it in a previous blog), just know it was horrible but we got through it! haha I got another star to put on my New Mama badge after that one for sure!
Ok now onto the milestone!!! She took her first big girl bath in the bathtub this week! Thats right, it was good bye little blue tub, hello big persons tub. She had a blast crawling around, splashing and exploring. I was alittle nervous at first but Daddy was there encouraging me to let her do her own thing and it helped. Once I saw that she was ok I relaxed more and enjoyed the moment. I can't wait for her next bathtime!
new thing I started this week was experimenting with making her home-made baby food. So far its been a good thing. I steam her food, run it through the food processor, and ta-da! instant baby food! She likes it too! Granted I have only tried sweet potatos and squash (her two favorites) I am determined to try other foods as well. I am having fun with it... feels like I am cooking for her... I guess in a way I am! Haha
Well she woke up from her nap and thats my queue to hurry up and finish this. The week was defiantely fun as always... anytime I get to spend with my little one is wonderful and I cherish every second I am with her.
