Mia had new snackies today!

Current mood: pleased

Mia is growing up so fast that we are forgetting just how old she is sometimes. We introduced her first solid snacks about a month or so ago and she didn't react to them to well. Infact she made such horrible faces when we put them in her mouth we decided to give her alittle more time before introducing more solid snacks for her.

I have been doing her daily feeding routine so much now that I hardly think about it anymore. Between her oatmeal, rice cereal, baby food, water and formula I totally forgot about snacks! Shes going on 9 months now and now that she has to tiny chompers I remembered about her snacks.

So off to the store Daddy went today to pick up some stuff. I asked him to buy Mia some finger foods so we can try them out again and see if she likes them now. He came back with TONS and I mean TONS of different snackies! He bought more graduate puffs, some wheels, biter cookies, and two different flavors of yogart melts! WOW! I thought I was the only one who over does it with buying Mia stuff haha.

Anyways after she woke from her nap we set up her little feeding chair and laid out all the different types of foods. She did good, when we placed them in her mouth to eat she knew right away to munch on them and she didn't make a single "yuk" face. We let her hold a apple wheel and let her feed herself with it and before we knew it she ate a whole wheel! Those things are BIG too! We were so proud of her. I gave her a biter cookie but she just made a huge mess with it.. and to be honest it kind of grossed me out to see soggy food all over the place. (I know I know I need to get over that, especially now with having a baby but still I always had this thing about soggy food YUK!) So needless to say I think we will hold off on the biters for now. The wheel is just as good and she seems to really like that. She munched her yogart melts and downed her banana puffs like a big girl. She knows how to pick them up with her thumb and forefinger but the coordination to getting them in her mouth may take her a bit more practice. She keeps dropping them or those tiny things stick her to wet fingers and wont go in her mouth. Haha She will get it though, I am proud of her anyways. Afterwards she downed some water in her sippy cup and was off to play again.

Speaking of sippy cup she is drinking from it alot better now. Infact I always have one laying around her play area for her to go to when she is thirsty, and she does. She will crawl to her cup, take a few drinks then go off playing again. Wow what a big girl!

I am so proud of my little mama, she is growing to fast!
