We had another big moment this morning! Mia put on her shoes all by herself for the very first time! And no they weren't slippers, slip ons, or her sandals, they were her sneakers that WE even have a hard time getting over her feet! I was so shocked and so proud... this is what happened...
Since it is summer and HOT, Mia usually runs around in sandals when she goes outside. We did buy her a pair of sneakers for the cooler days or when we don't want her toes to get dirty. Well we had her sneakers in a duffel bag that I had YET to unpack from our last Oxnard visit and she found them. I really didn't feel like taking them away from her and just let her have them as I browsed the internet for something.
Soon I heard the noise, "thump thump thump". It was the sound of her shoes hitting the kitchen floor. At first I didn't think much of it until it hit me... I looked up from my computer screen and asked myeslf "whoa wait... that sound!? her shoes couldn't possibly be on and shes walking in them!?" I turned my head and sure enough, there was Mia with both shoes on her feet, walking proudly around the kitchen!
I sprang up!! So excited to be seeing what I was seeing! She not only had her shoes on but on the correct foot too!!! I cheered her on and grabbed the camera to take a picture of this big moment!
I am so proud of her! She is growing up waaaay to fast. I still don't know how she got her shoes on, if she sat on her butt and did it or stepped into them.... maybe I will catch her in action tomorrow! Till then I just HAD to share the story!
