Mia's 2nd Easter!

Current mood: accomplished

Happy Easter Everyone! Today was a blast! It seems the older Mia gets the more fun holidays like this are!

As soon as she went to bed last night I went to work on her Easter Basket. I had been collecting goodies for her basket the past few weeks, so it was lots of fun to finally put it altogether.

The next morning Mia and I woke up bright and early. We had a busy day ahead of us, after we celebrated our own little Easter we were going to head down to San Diego to spend time with Mia's Cardoso side of the family. So needless to say, we were on a tight time schedule. I quickly fed Mia breakfast and then walked her back upstairs to wake up her sleeping Dada!

As she pounced on him in bed, I took off to hide her basket in her room for her to find. I decided to put it in the middle of her big bed so she could easily find it. Once it was set up Adrian and I brought Mia over to her room (I had closed her door). We told her the Easter Bunny had come and there was a basket in her room for her!!! We told her to open the door and see.

Mia slowly opened her bedroom door and right away spotted her basket. She literally dove into her bed and went straight for it. She took each item out one by one. She had 3 books, a pin wheel, eggs, Elmo socks, a bubble whistle, an light up spinning egg and two big punch balloons! She was so excited and examined each item as she pulled them out. Right away she picked what she liked most and started playing with it. Then she didn't want to leave her room at all!! We still had to dress her up in her Easter Dress and have her hunt for eggs in the front yard and it was getting late! So it took some convincing to get her downstairs and she eventually went.

As I got her dressed and all dolled up, Adrian was playing Easter Bunny and hid some eggs in the grass in our front yard. When Easter Bunny Dada was done we had Mia go outside and hunt for them. Right away she went straight for the eggs and started putting them in her basket! I wish now that we had hid more eggs for her because she found them all so quickly I barely had time to get many pictures. Oh well.. you live and learn!

After she got her egg loot we went back inside to see what the eggs had in them. I had stuffed them with all kinds of treats. Since we don't give Mia candy her treats consisted of yogart melts and dried fruit! Ya, it doesn't sound as good as a chocolate covered egg but she likes them. She opened every single one of her eggs and ate all the goodies. She had found her Golden Egg too!!! and inside that was a bracelet. She quickly put that on and went right back to munching on her goodies!

The rest of the morning was spent getting ready to head out to San Diego. Our little Easter was so much fun, I just wish it lasted longer... she is getting too good at finding eggs! haha
