Current mood: happy
I have been craving the Jamacian Jerk Chicken Burger from Red Robin for WEEKS now, and I felt I deserved to spoil myself alittle after all I have been through. So we set aside some time to head off to Red Robin yesterday to enjoy a good family meal.
We didn't make Mia any lunch and only gave her some small goldfish snacks to hold her over till we made it to the Red Robin. We wanted to make sure she was good and hungry before we got there. Once we got there, things seemed to go pretty well.
She usually does great in restaruants and from the horror stories we hear from friends and family, I feel blessed she usually acts good. We like going to Red Robin, not only because of the food, but its also very noisey and loud and Mia likes that. She often joins in and likes to be alittle rowdy. Yesterday was no exception, she was her normal chipper self. She colored alot more than she usually does and really seemed to enjoy it. It wasn't until our waiter came did her royal treatment began.
He was a younger guy, probably in his late 20s like us. He quickly commented on how cute she looked and how big her eyes were. We thanked him, placed our order and waited. We watched Mia color a bit more and when she started to get bored with that, we both agreed we should have brought at least a few toys with us to help her be entertained. We were also sad that they didn't have any balloons this time. She always gets a balloon and plays with it, but this time they didn't have any hanging around. Oh well... and just then I saw our waiter again, he walked up to our table and gave Mia a big Red Balloon!!! YAY!!!! She lit up and was so happy by this. He tied it to her high chair and we thanked him. Even Mia thanked him in her own jibber jabber way. She was so happy with her balloon and played with it. Later our food came and it was time to eat.
We ordered her a grilled cheese (her favorite) but she didn't like their type. It had a garlicy taste to it, thought it tasted good to us she didn't like it. So she ate her apple slices instead and buried her head (literally) into Daddy's cantaloup slice haha The waiter kept coming back to make sure we were doing good and we were. Then the manager stopped by our table. He commented on Mia and asked her if she wanted a surprise? She just stared at him. Then he took a napkin and make her a napkin rose!!! She was so intrigued by how he did it and just stared at him making it. We thought it was really sweet... her second napkin rose from Red Robin. When he was done he tried to hand it to her, she didn't even want to touch it. So I took it from him and we thanked him. When I handed her the rose she took it right away (hahah I guess thats good she doesn't take things from strangers) She jibber jabbered to him too and he later walked away. As soon as he was gone she tried to eat it!!! Oh no!!! We kept trying to get it out of her mouth but she kept wanting to eat the paper... so we had to take it away from her. Oh well, it was still a sweet thing for them to do for her.
After our meal was done and we were all stuffed it was time to go. We went shopping afterwards to brun off our meal and just hung out as a family. It was fun, but my favorite thing of all was definately watching Mia get the royal treatment at Red Robin!
