As you probably read earlier, my Dad came down for another short visit these past couple of days. Mostly to help out with Mia's pageant, but also to spend time with her and us.
As always, it was a HUGE treat for us to have him here and Mia just went nuts. He is her best buddy while he is here and she sticks to him like glue!
She was on her very best behavior during the pageant and we all had lots of fun. That night, I let her stay up WAY past her bedtime because she was just having to much fun with Grandpa. I didn't want to be the mean Mama and demand she go to bed. So they hung out late together and had some more bonding time. Her favorite thing to do was making him sing her a lullaby while she squeezed her eyes tightly closed. It was the cutest thing. Eventually it got WAY late and Mia started to acting delirious so Grandpa put her to bed.
Today went by just as fast. We were all pretty pooped out from the pageant so we all just hung around the house today. Mia didn't mind, she loved doing silly things to make her Grandpa laugh. She bounced around on the couch, danced, and even took off her shorts and put them on her head! During nap time, he put her to bed and fell asleep as well. He was later woken up by her punching his nose and when he finally opened his eyes she was right in his face staring at him with the biggest smile on her face!
The whole visit he kept trying to get her to say Grandpa. Though she used to months ago she stopped. Now she thinks its a game and purposely refuses to say it. She will just give him a look, smile then laugh and refuse to say it. Finally right before he left we got her to say it and it just melted Grandpa's heart.
Overall the visit was great! I just wish it would have lasted longer... but there is always next time.. and maybe another pageant?!?! hahaha just kidding =)
