Ever since Mia was very tiny, and barely learned how to eat, she has always loved Strawberries. Even if they were "out of season" we always managed to find some and feed them to her all year round. Strawberries were always a special treat for her.
Since Mia is such a strawberry lover we decided to take her to the ultimate strawberry place.. The California Strawberry Festival!!! There is where she not only dressed up like a strawberry but ate her very first strawberry shortcake! She was in strawberry HEAVEN!
About a week after the festival my Dad came to visit and surprised us with the best tasting strawberries in Ventura County ... or anywhere for that matter. The strawberries came from a small little fruit stand in Filmore called "Fransico's Fruits". Though it was an extra trip on the part of my Dad, he wanted to make sure Mia got a chance to eat some really GOOD strawberries!
So when my Dad came to visit, he walked in with a HUGE box of FRESH RED SWEET STRAWBERRIES!!! YAY! (I kick myself now for not taking a picture of them). Well Mia fell in love with the strawberries and literally ate more than any of us!
A couple of weeks past and we were out of strawberries so we bought her some store bought ones. Mia knew right away that these were not good strawberries and REFUSED to eat ANY of them. She would get all excited when she saw them, but after taking 1 bite she would hand it back to me. Now we have a big container of uneaten strawberries! I won't eat them either, they are kind of gross!
Sigh.... oh well.... I guess Mia knows what she likes and I can't fool her anymore with fake strawberries, she only wants Fransico's!
