Current mood: shocked
I wish so much that I had seen this myself, but here is a story that Adrian told me earlier today. I just HAD to write about it.
Adrian couldn't remember if it was yesterday or the day before when this happened. I imagine it was yesterday because the Elmo episode I am about to refer too was one we played for Mia yesterday.
Anyway, Adrian said he was sitting on the couch watching Mia. She was watching yet another Elmo episode (the fish one) we had downloaded for her. She was near her toy that has a tiny phone on it that says numbers as you push them. Well at a certain point in the Elmo episode he started counting fish, one by one and to Adrian's amazement Mia started pushing the numbers corresponding to what Elmo was saying. When he said "One" Mia looked down to her toy and pushed the number 1 and the toy said "One". When Elmo said "Two" Mia looked back at her toy and pushed the number 2 and the toy said "Two". She did this all the way to 4 before she stopped!!!!
I am just in shock. I wish so much I would have seen this myself. She wasn't just pushing the numbers, one after the other, she actually would look up, wait for Elmo to say the number then pushed her toy! Wow!
Ever since I heard this story I now count to her and show her my fingers as I count. She gets a big kick out of it and giggles when ever I stick up a new finger. She even tries to help me.
I love my little Mia, almost a year and a half and already recognizing numbers!!! I am so proud of her!
