Current mood: amused
It was a COLD night last night. The temp. dropped down to 32 degrees! The house was freezing so I put on the heater for awhile. We are trying to save money so we don't have the heater going long. If we are downstairs we use our fireplace, Mia has her own room heater and I have my electric blanket to help keep me warm. Last night, however, was just too cold to not put the heater on. I was worried that our brand new tree would get prematurely dried out because of this.. but I was shivering and decided to take the risk anyway.
In the morning, I went downstairs with Mia to check the tree. It is still pretty fresh but you can tell it didn't take the heater being on all night very well. I quickly looked in the bowl of water underneath the tree and half of the water was already gone (not sure if it was because the cat drank it... something she does ALL the time). So I went to the kitchen and filled up a pitcher of water. Mia was of course being my little shadow like she always is in the morning. We walked over to the tree. I lifted its branches and began to pour the fresh water into the bowl. I told Mia, "The tree is thirsty and needs a drink of water". She just stood next to me watching me. When I was finished she walked up to the tree and tried to lift its branches. She then took off and came back with both her milk AND water sippy cups and tried to put them in the tree!!! I am not sure if she did this because I said the tree was thirsty (she knows what thirsty means) but she was insistant that those two sippies be put in the tree. When they would fall on the ground and out of the tree she would pick them back up and try again. She did this over and over until both were in the tree. It was the cutest thing. I just stood back and watched her. Eventually I ran and grabbed my camera and took some video and pictures of this. It was really cute.
Thats my story of Mia sharing her drinks with the tree! What a cutiepie!
