Current Mood: Excited!
It's true! Mia has hit another milestone today! Today she officially turned 2.5 years old!!! Half way through the terrible 2's! WHOOHOO!! haha
This month has been very exciting and lots of fun. The holidays came and Mia was so into the whole Christmas spirit, infact she still makes me sing Jingle Bells to her! She was all into Santa and the Christmas Tree and the Lights on the houses... it really made the holiday extra special.
She also did many other things as well, as you will read in the summary. Overall the month has been great... I still can't get over shes almost 3!!!! Where is the time going.. I mean seriously!!!
Summary:
She has learned that when Mama mean business... Mama means business! She no longer challenges me if I put my foot down
She embarrassed Dada at the grocery store by "feeding" her giraffe
She has become obsessed with wearing her Wonder Woman Halloween Costume and if she had it her way she would never take it off... EVER. That is why there are so many pictures and videos of her wearing it this month. She also says "Super Mia to the Rescue" and puts her hands on her hips, its the cutest thing ever
She went Christmas Tree shopping and had lots of fun playing with the tree, especially the tree water
She decorated the Christmas Tree with her little brother watching. She even sang the decorate Gabba song .. "Decorate... decorate ... decorate the Christmas Tree... the Star up top.. the star up top... etc"
She can now sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star... or as she calls it "Twinkle Stars"
She can recite the whole ABC song (which is now one of her favorite songs to sing on her own)
She had her pictures taken at Sears, just by herself
Mama and her went shopping in the mall and she got a new Princess spoon and fork set
She LOVES corn on the cob
She fell in love with all my Christmas Decorations, especially the "baby snowman" and "corenilus"
She comforted Alex for the first time while he was crying
She loves being next to her brother and often times tells me to put baby on couch so she could sit next to him. Its an even bigger treat if she can hold him
Mama, Mia and Alex went on an adventure, just the three of them, for the first time... and it was STORMING!
She went to Alex's 2nd month well baby check and didn't like the doctor's poking and prodding him at all!
We celebrated Christmas Eve in San Diego with her Cardoso family and she got TONS of gifts
We celebrated our own Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Years together
She celebrated a belated Christmas at our house with her Grandparents Pizano and had lots of fun with them
She made several trips to San Diego to visit her Grandma Rebecca this month, with Daddy
She loves being "Snow Princess" thats what she calls herself when she wears her Holiday dress
She got the whole Disney Princess Set for Christmas and LOVES to play with all her dollies
Her new favorite food is applesauce
I truly believe she is left handed now. She eats, draws and colors with her left hand and her coordination with it is much better than her right
She ate and liked Chili Beans... though now she won't eat them anymore
I made home made dough for her to play with with cookie cutters and she loved it. She calls it her "smashies"
She started knocking on her bedroom door to get us to let her out. That was annoying, luckily we put an end to that real fast
She has to ALWAYS sleep with her bedroom light on. No matter how many times we turn it off during the night she will wake up and turn it back on and go back to bed
Shes still loves to color and I am constantly going through tons of paper. I just recently bought her a tablet and that seems to work... for now
She loves to put her boogers on the wall now
She LOVES Sponge Bob and carries her brother's toy everywhere with her. She really likes his cartoon too
She has finally learned to go fast on her scooter and really got the hang of it. So as a reward she got a brand new scooter to play with
She came up with a new way to slide down the slide... on her back with her legs crossed and in the air, and her arms behind her head
She loves to share with her brother now and insists that he wear her crowns and hats. Also her blankets when his feet are cold
She has a new two finger sucking partner now... her Brother! haha
She has also turned into a Waffle Monster and always has me make them for her. She likes to help too. She stirs the batter and pours the mix in the waffle iron, what a big girl
While in bed with her at night time, she thought I was asleep so she leaned over and gave me a kiss on the forehead... that melted my heart
She went grocery shopping with Mama, a first since before my surgery back in Oct. of 2009!
Weight:
I just weighed her for the fun of it and she is 31 lbs according to our bathroom scale!
Goals met from last Month?:
We met a very special goal this month... the goal that beats all others... she no longer screams and cries during bedtime! WHOOHOO! That was definately the hardest thing for me to deal with, it broke my heart every night, but now she no longer does it. We do stay with her till she falls asleep but some days I just can't do it. On those days, she still is very good and lets me leave without making a fuss. I am so happy and thrilled about that! YAY!
Also she can recognize ALL her letters in the alphabet and not only can count to 10 she can count to 16! Though she can't recognize all the numbers yet, she knows a big chunk of them.
As for getting her to realize limited options and that she can't always come up with the options has also been getting better. It is either this or nothing... that usually works. Sometimes I have to threaten to turn off the TV completely if she keeps complaining about whats on tv. If I do that she usually settles down and watches whatever we put for her.
Goals for Next Month:
Getting her to recognize all her numbers. Learn how to read at least one word. I know that sounds like alot but she is so close already. She knows STOP and spells it as "O-P... STOP". I am trying to get her to recognize her name. Take longer naps again, shes back to cat naps during the day and it drives me INSANE!
