Current Mood: Hopeful
I can't wait to see what this upcoming year will bring. Finally I will be able to spend time with her without worrying about recovering from a surgery, protecting a pregnancy, or being sick! I can't wait. I have high hopes for 2011 and I know it will be another fun year for all of us!
JANUARY: (18 Months)
Mia reached her year and a half mark (18 months), went to the park numerous times with both Daddy and Mommy, visited the Emu's again.. first time since before she could walk and she really liked it, went to the Park with Mama and shows her for the first time how she can climb on and off the jungle gym and play by herself, We all got the "Cardoso" cold which took weeks to get better from, we went to the duck pond a few times, she ate CATFOOD! YUCK!, she ate a whole pair all by herself (she snuck it), she wore her Charger Cheerleader uniform outside to cheer on the Chargers in the playoffs (too bad they lost.. DOH!), she got to experience her first BIG/HUGE rainstorm(s), she found my old collection of beaded necklaces and always puts them on herself (all of them... she looks like a rainbow Mr. T!", she naps and bedtime become easier again (THANK GOODNESS!), she loves to draw on her magna-doodle, she recognizes letters and reads them (however she can only pronounce A and C so everything A and C when its letters), Grandpa Pizano visited for a whole week, she got a new Spinning Elmo Chair from Grandpa and a new Elmo book, Mama and Daddy went on vacation without her and actually spent more than 24hours away from her (that was HARD) while Grandpa Pizano babysat her, she got more belated Christmas presents from family in Oxnard, she said a new word "Dance", she missed her Grandpa after he left and walked around the house calling him and looking for him, we learned never to mess with Mia's balloons... once you take them away she clinches her fists and shakes!, we learned Mia prefers Cheerios over her Kix, she loves to dive into her tent when running and hiding from you (especially when its diaper changing time), she got her 18 month check up and everything went well. She did get two shots but only semi-cried for the second one. She is in the 90-95 percentile for her head and body size and right on track with her weight... finally!!! YAY, she is obsessed with Balloons, she points at EVERYTHING and refuses to talk, she LOVES music and her favorite beatles song is "All you need is love", she is obsessed with shoes and is always walking around in mine or Adrian's shoes on her feet, she took a bath in the big girl tub again (first time in almost a year) and she refused to get out, even with all the water draining. She even taught herself how to close the drain!!
FEBRUARY: (19 Months)
She loves to eat "fuzzies" a.k.a. lint ff her blankets, celebrated her 2nd Valentines Day, is becoming more hyper, especially on the couch, the three of us went to a new park down the road, shes putting her hands up and down and saying "Up" "Down", she copies the Roadrunner and says "Mwap Mwap" (her version of "Beep Beep"), she head bangs to "Crazy Frog", she learned how to spin in circles, she knows how to move the mouse so the media player bar is no longer on the TV, she has officially grown in all her front teeth (happened this week) all she needs now is her secondary molars. The count is 16/20 she grew 4 of them this month alone!, she had some fun visits from Grandpa and Grandma Pizano and Grandma Santos, she likes to pop bubbles with her mouth, she finished going "poopies" on her potty (clothes on but she sat down on the potty all by herself), she made the announcement that Mia is going to be a Big Sister, she got to see her baby sibling (via ultra-sound picture) for the first time, Grandpa Pizano came down for another visit for almost a week, YAY!, she got to meet the Red Robin and she wasn't scared!, she has become more clingy to me.. I think because I am pregnant and always sick, shetries to console me by patting me in the face with her treasured blanket, she no longer plays by herself she always has to be sitting by my side, she tries to help Mama during diaper changes, including trying to use a wipee! haha, she sings the chorus of "Ol McMia" (Old Mc Donald) she says "ay ay ay ay aaay" during her part of the song, she is starting to love more Beatles Songs and gets mad when you turn them off, she points to eyes (and says eyes), nose, mouth, ears and hair when asked
MARCH: (20 Months)
Morning sickness got to be so bad, I became unfunctional. Mia noticed and would never leave my side. She even patted me on the face with her blanket to try to console me, she went to San Diego 3 times this month. Baby D's/Adan's Birthday, Emily's Birthday and Easter, she counted 1-7, she spent a week with me in Oxnard for the first time. This was also the first time she would be away from her Daddy for a week! She did extremely well on the ride up and back from Oxnard and didn't cry once!!! (That was a first), Grandpa Pizano spent a week at our house so he could help me with Mia and to help me rest, she now gets overly excited whenever Yo Gabba Gabba comes on, she is a HUGE fan of The Beatles and I need to play her 5-6 songs every morning, she took pictures with the Easter Bunny for the second time (still didn't smile), she is starting to act sillier now and makes me laugh ALL the time, she went on her first Easter Egg hunts (4 times!), she had her picture taken for the local newspaper and met another Easter Bunny, she is starting to pretend with her toys and makes them kiss "Mmmmmah", she transitioned to the big girl bed and no longer sleeps in the crib!!!!! (THIS IS HUGE!), she colored eggs with markers for Easter, she felt her first BIG Earthquake (Easter Day in San Diego) it was a 7.2!, she went to her first Baby Sibling's doctor's appointment, she LOVES napales!! (Cactus!), she had the worst poopie in history and it made me violently sick, she goes completely nuts on her bed if I lay down with her
APRIL: (21 Months)
She helped celebrate my 30th birthday with me!, we went to Oxnard to Celebrate my Birthday, she quickly made friends with her Cousin April (3 years) and were soon unseparatable, Plex is her all time favorite toy and he goes EVERYWHERE with us, she even held him throughout her Pageant!, she slides down slides all by herself now, she rides her bike and car forward now and zooms all over the place, she blew out her first candle (on my birthday cake! She did this twice!), we went to San Diego for her Cousin Emily's 6th birthday and we found out she does not like to let go of Pinata sticks and threw a HUGE fit in front of everyone because of it, she made me throw up more than once, from changing her horribly stink poopie diapers!, she played her first game of pin the tail on the donkey, she loves to color with sidewalk chalk, she finally talks on the phone, she won Miss City of Menifee!!!, she loves to chase ducks, she loves to chase animals (especially our cat) and says "GO! GO!!!", we took a walk to the Emu farm and she loved watching all the animals, she tries to fake us out by pretending shes asleep. With me she quickly shuts her eyes if we make eye contact and with Adrian she will fake snore!, she ate her first homemade tortilla (I made them) and loves them!!! She no longer eats corn! haha, she climbed in and out of her crib by using her big girl bed, she is finally trying to say new words and copies words from TV, she says "Bye Sister" ALOT... not sure why? is it a clue to what I am having?!, she LOVES flashcards and Dada works with her everyday with those, her new favorite show is "Between the Lions", we implemented a reward system for her and since then she has less and less tantrums, she has become extremely attached to both Adrian and I. When I am not around she always calls out "Mama... Mama" when Adrian isn't around its all "Dada? Dada!" She always wants us both by her side at all times
MAY: (22 Months)
Mia got to hear her baby brother's heart beat for the first time and smiled at it, she found out she will be having a little brother to boss around soon haha, she is becoming more and more shy, especially around men, she helped me celebrate Mother's Day and spoiled me with a card and gifts, she is saying alot more words now, she is also becoming my little copycat, she copies what she sees people doing, things on TV and what people say. She went to Oxnard for the California Strawberry Festival and dressed up as a Strawberry,
she got to hang out with her Pizano cousins again, she ate her first Strawberry shortcaked and LOVED it, especially the whipped cream, she had her Grandpa Pizano stay with us a few days for a couple of visits, she competed in another beauty pageant, "Miss American Starlet" with her Grandpa and came away with the "Princess" title. She started making nap/bedtime HORRIBLE, she would constantly cry and freak out if you left her alone (she just recently stopped doing that, but most of the month consisted of it), she is saying "Mama" and "Dada" ALOT more deliberate now, in order to grab our attention, she LOVES stickers, especially her static window cling ones, she can finally jump off the ground and has since become my little jumping bean! She goes NUTS over watching people jump, her new favorite show is "Mickey Mouses' Clubhouse" and says "Oh Tootles!", she is constantly asking for permission to do things shes is unsure about, "Ka?.. Ka?", she really likes Carlos Santana music, she hid her shoes in a empty computer case and I couldn't find them for 2 weeks!, she went to Orange County for her little friend Koa's 2nd birthday. She rode her first horse, train and jumped solo in the jump for joy at Koa's party, she sings to the Black Eyed Peas "Don't Lie", she calls out to me if she doesn't want to be left alone in bed, "Mama! Maaaama!", she took her Grandpa Pizano to the Temecula Duck pond for the first time, we went to Orange County two days in one weekend because we messed up a party time and the very next weekend we did it again only this time in San Diego! She went to San Diego for her Cousin Natalia's 6th birthday. If you ask her if she wants a bath, she will quickly say "Bath! Bath!" and then strip down naked and throw her diaper on the floor, she only likes fresh strawberries from Fransico's Fruits (her Grandpa Pizano brought them to her on his last visit) and now refuses to eat any store bought ones, she got to ring in summer by splashing around her in pool in the front yard

JUNE: (23 Months)
Mia hit week #100. She had an poopie accident in her bed that made me throw up, and Dada get up extra early to clean her up and give her a bath, she went to the San Diego County Fair and rode a horse and rides! She also danced to live music, she got sick, threw up and had a 103 fever! The fever lasted 3 days! She is scared of bugs, she saw a pincher bug come out of her diaper bag and said "Oh No Bug!" and kept talking about it days after it happened, scoldings are finally working! She will hang her head low and whimper afterwards, she gave Dada a dead pincher bug as a gift, she loves to have me sing her the Sweet Baby James song.. over and over and over, we all caught a cold, including Mia but hers only lasted 1 day. She copies Adrian when he sneezes and says "Dada sneeze!" (by making the noise), she celebrated Father's Day, she LOVES bubble wrap, she is shy around Men, she went to the City of Murrieta Birthday bash. She LOVES Queen, especially "we will rock you" she calls it the "we we" song and just recently learned how to say "we we rock you", she insists on feeding her toy cats, Mew Mew's food and says "kitty kitty eat". She tried to make friends with the cat by feeding her a piece of her Carne Asada, she loves Dada's carne asada and asks for it by name, she chased more ducks at the duck pond, she loves to ride her toy pinata horse and feeds it, she is a blueberry monster!, she finally reacts to an Earthquake! 5.4, she said "Uh Oh" while the windows shook
JULY: (24 Months)
Mia celebrated 4th of July although we didn't get to see fireworks this year... bummer. She turned 2 years old!!!, she helped celebrate Dada's 30th birthday. She ate a Foofa cake and celebrated her birthday in Oxnard with her Grandparents (Pizano) her cousins and Nina and Nino, Mia celebrated her 2 year birthday in Oxnard at her Nina and Nino's house with her cousins, and grandparents and us. She got a Foofa cake which she still talks about, she got to jump in her very own "Jump for Joy" at the party, she is becoming a hand-full when we take her to Toys R Us now since she wants to play with EVERY toy there and refuses to leave isles. She has a new "Queen" song she likes: "Flash" she sings along and says "Trash.. AAHHH", she is starting to sing along to songs played on her radio, and sings many lyrics to the song "If I ever fell in love" -Beatles as long as Dada sings with her, we took Mia to her very first company picnic for HP employees and we ALL got ROASTED from the 105 heat!, She ia took her first shower! She went to Incredible John's Pizza Co. for the first time, she rode her first fast roller coaster and played many games, Grandpa Pizano came down for a week to visit! She got to play in the pool in the front yard and almost got blown away by a tornado! haha She no longer sleeps in her bed for naps, and usually sleeps on the floor behind her door, she peed on the guestbed! Oh no!!! She has learned to BLARE the volume on her radio in her room and turn on and off her fan, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, and she knows when I need to test my blood. She will say "blood" and follow me to my mete and goes "Ouchie!" when I prick my finger. The house is being invaded by Ants and Mia scouts for them and said "Oh No! Bug! Bug!" She went to her little friend "Abby"'s 2nd birthday party. It was a Gabba theme! She went to her 2 year check up at the doctors! and got to wear her very first hospital gown! She is starting to pretend more SHE COUNTED TO 10 ALL BY HERSELF!!! She now asks with "please" which sounds like "peace!" haha She eats gummie vitamins now and calls them "candy"
AUGUST: (25 Months)
Its became harder to keep her in the carts at the store, she constantly wants to run around and get into trouble, she has learned how to say her brothers name, "Baby Alex" and often times tries to touch or tickle my tummy when she says it, she has learned almost the entire alphabet and knows and recognizes letters, she has learned to count on her hands, but can't really form the number 3 to well yet, she is singing more and more songs, and learning more and more lyrics! We will rock you! Is still her all time favorite song, we took a quick turn-around trip to Oxnard and she was babysat by her Nina, Nino and cousins for the first time. She had a blast! She wants to mimic me and be like me more and more, wearing my clothes, bra, maternity belt and doing whatever I am doing and eating whatever I eat.. including spicy chili dried mango slices haha, she ate an ant and after realizing it was "bug" she got tramatized by this and wouldn't stop talking about it for weeks! "Bug mouth!", she took a trip down to San Diego with her Dada to play with her cousins, Brianna and Natalia. She had a blast there too and came home exhausted, dirty from playing outside, and happy! haha Grandpa Pizano came down for a couple of days and spent some quality time with Mia. She loved this and of course was spoiled rotten! haha She still looks for him in the house and asks about him, she loves her PBS shows, including "Elmo Street" (Sesame Street) and is always asking for that. We finally had the chance to take her to the new park down the road and she LOVES the swings.. infact we couldn't get her back off of them! I soloed Mia for a full day and a half for the first time while Dada spent the night in San Diego (Due to his early morning training week), she is obsessed with feeding our cat and constantly makes a mess out of her cat food trying to get "Kitty eat!" She took off her own diaper and tried to fold it up.. all while alone in her room one morning. I now know what she means when she tells me "Mickey Pee Pees!" haha She loves Pizza and is constantly talking about it, "Pizza Whoohoo!" She is also obsessed with her cousin Sarah! This started after talking on the phone with her, now she always wants to talk to Sarah and only Sarah on the phone. She walks around the house holding her picture and even kisses it! She finally asks for things politely, "Mama "object" Please" and sometimes ends it with "Alright!!!!" in a cheer like fashion if she knows she will get it after I say ok haha She is constantly blasting her radio in the room and dances like crazy to the blaring music
SEPTEMBER: (26 Months)
Mia took off her diaper and was found TWICE in her room asleep without a diaper. She even peed in her bed! Oh-No! She went to Oxnard for her baby brother's babyshower and got to see her Oxnard family again, she spent the night at her Nina and Nino's house, she went to San Diego for baby brother's babyshower and got to see her Cardoso family again
She now sits on her potty and even peed in it for the first time!! Grandpa Pizano visited for a few days and wore Mia out so much that after he left she fell asleep on the livingroom floor and couldn't be woken up! haha My Dad took her to Corona with him to get some Hamburgers from a GREAT hamburger place, she learned how to do the "scissor" jump, she refuses to take naps or go to bed nicely, it always turns into a full on trantrum fit, she always has to wear pants or shorts now because she loves to take off her diaper, she is beginning to not like them anymore, she went to a couple of baby doctor appointments, she always sniff things and says "Pee-U!" She put on her shoes by herself for the first time AND on the correct foot! She fell out of her bed. She got her wonderwoman costume in the mail and she LOVES to wear it, I started to really get anxious about how the adjustment period would be with the newborn and Mia, she pretends to be a "Frog" and goes "Ribbit" while jumping all hunched over, she also does monkey "ooh ooh aah aah"
She loves to dance and its evolving into an even cuter dance where she wiggles her butt and hips and claps, she is more clingy to me and if I leave the room without her she will look for me saying "Mama? Mama? Maaamaaa where are you!?" She LOVES her "Ice Agua", she went to the 3 year City of Menifee Birthday Celebration and danced near the stage, she went to San Diego with her Daddy to help celebrate her cousin Brianna's 5th birthday, she gave up the pinata stick without a fuss! She put herself to bed once

OCTOBER: (27 Months)
HER BABY BROTHER WAS BORN!!!!!!!!, she was in the hospital the moment he was born and she got to meet him, she refers to Alex by his name or "Brother" or "Baby" She loves to clean now and sings "clean clean clean, do do do, la la la". She sings "Grey Squirrel" and shakes her butt (she LOVES this song) She dances ALL the time, she loves the "Fresh Beat Band" and has to dance to the intro and ending like crazy, nap time has gotten better but only because Dada sleeps with her, bedtime is still hard. Grandpa Pizano visited for a week and they had tons of fun together. Grandma Rebecca visited for a few days and had MORE fun together. She caught the stomach bug and threw up alot (YUCK) She went to Incredible John's with Grandpa and played lots of games and had fun with lots of kids, she has been going to the park ALOT lately with either, Grandpa, Grandma or Dada. She her first soft serve icecream. She stuck a flower petal in her nose a HUGE one. She likes to feel involved with the baby, if I am nursing him she wants to hold his foot, she loves to hold his hands and give him little kisses on the head. She also talks to him "its ok baby" if hes crying. Daddy took her to jump in the bounce house at the pumpkin patch a few times. She learned to climb the inflatable slide at the pumpkin patch all by herself. When a storm blew through she became really interested in watching the rain fall. She went to the pumpkin patch and of course threw more pumpkins. She cleaned out another pumpkin and really had fun with the spoon and pumpkin guts. She became obsessed with wearing her Wonderwoman costume and insisted on wearing for days and days. She had her pictures taken with her brother at Sears studio for the first time. She celebrated her 3rd Halloween!!! She went trick-or-treating at the mall and around the block with Grandpa too!! We had our first family outing as a family (the 4 of us). Shes LOVES to sing along to songs, even if she doesn't know the lyrics she will sound them out. Her new favorite toy is her sing-a-long Elmo toy with the microphone, she will spend so much time sitting there and singing along with him. She is fully in her Terrible 2 stage. She helped Grandma clean the kitchen, now she LOVES to clean things with a rag or paper towel and sings too. Mama and Mia had a battle, she had a HUGE tantrum and finally I had to put her in her room for a time out. Daddy bought her a toy slide and kitchen and she LOVES to play with both. She is learning to pretend more and use her imagination. She is starting to say "Cheese!" to the camera, though she doesn't really smile. She loves to wear her Mickey mouse ears and even went grocery shopping with them on. She even fell asleep with them on her head. She LOVES to pretend to trick-or-treat now and still carries around her pumpkin bucket. She puts things in there while saying "Trick-or-treat" then says "thank you" afterwards. Once the UPS guy rang our doorbell and she ran over saying "trick-or-treat!". She is taking more showers now but she still gets a bath
NOVEMBER: (28 Months)
Mia's myspace account is no longer being updated.. they made so many unfavorable changes to their site I finally left it after 5 years and hundreds of blogs. Her Grandpa Pizano stayed with us for a week and she had lots of fun. I threw Alex's boppie downstairs and she said "Oh no Baby!" thinking it was him. She learned the lyrics and sings "Red River Valley" thanks to her Grandpa. She is learning to sing more lyrics to songs and often sings on her own without music while shes playing. She is really taken to taking care of her own baby doll as if it was real like Alex. Grandpa took her to McDonalds for the first time and she got to play in their play area with kids. She went to her Grandma Rebecca's house for a visit couple of weekends in a row. Her Grandma Rebecca bought her a Snow White costume that she wears EVERYWHERE! haha She wears her toy earrings now, she wants everyone to hold her baby and sometimes make me feed him! Her Grandpa, Mia and myself all went for a night walk outside. She likes to sit in the baby mat with her brother. She plays with Alex more and makes him smile all the time. She is starting to take care of Alex, making sure hes covered, talks to him when he cries and gives him toys to look at when hes laying down. She "roars" and chases you and once she catches you, she will tickle you. She caught TWO colds this month... OH NO! She likes La Bella's Minstone soup! (the first soup she ever willingly ate) Her nap/bedtime have been improving (slightly) She went poopies in her potty!!! She also went poopies on the bathroom floor! OH NO! (she hasn't gone pottys in the bathroom since that happened haha) She plays "doctor" whenever there is tissue paper laying around. She loves to push her baby in Alex's baby swing (and sometimes Alex too!) She got her first Fever blisters (which came right before she got sick, both times) She loves to draw and color and making "turkey hands" She gets heart broken if she accidentally hurts Alex (like poke his eye or grabs his arm to hard). Her and Daddy ate at a restaurant together by themselves for the first time (Rosa's Cafe). She took a nap in our bed for the first time. We celebrated our first Thanksgiving with Alex
She has learned how to scream that high pitch scream when shes mad (Not good!) She went to San Diego with Daddy to celebrate Thanksgiving with the Cardoso family. She strongly protests her picture being taken. She loves to wear boots.
DECEMBER: (29 Months)
She met Santa and gave him a hug. She took pictures with Santa. She helped make rice and baked a cake with Mama. She helped make pancakes with Mama, she is getting into "Princesses" more and loves to watch their movies and dress up, she loves to tell stories of adventures she's had, and explain things, she got her first scooter riding Ouchie on her foot, she went to the park with her baby brother for the first time, she got into the destin during nap time and was covered in it from head to toe! She gets up at all hours of the night now just to turn on her bedroom light. She got into her destine and made a mess of herself, head to foot! She had to learn the hard way that when Mama means, business she means business! She embarressed Dada in the store by "feeding" her giraffe, we all went out to buy our Christmas Tree. She loved to put needles and twigs in the tree water. Mama took her to get her photo's taken at Sears all by herself. She loves to eat corn on the cob and calls it "popcorn", she loves to decorate, and redecorate the Christmas tree, she loves to sing "Twinkle Stars", she went on an adventure with her Mama and brother in the rain (attempting to pick up Alex's photos from the studio), she celebrated her 3rd Christmas. She went to San Diego to spend Christmas Eve with her Cardoso family.
