Current mood: adventurous
Finally! it cooled off today and actually reached below 100 for once! YAY! by the end of the afternoon it was cool enough to go outside! It had to be in the low 80s and felt nice.
Adrian went outside first, he was taking out the trash for tomorrow's trash day and he noticed a BIG wasp nest right outside our front door!!!! He called me to check it out and sure enough there were two tiny ones a big nest in the middle... great.... not sure how we are going to deal with that. It does, however, explain the essesive buzzing we hear in our master bedroom in the early morning hours. Anyways, because we went outside we noticed how nice it was. It was about 5pm, it was perfect to go out for alittle bit with the baby.
I quickly got Mia dressed and ready to go and we went across the street to the park, just her and I. I have been dying to take her the park now that she is a walking pro, and see her run ...well attempt to run in the grass.
At first I had her strawberry sandles on to protect her tiny feet from the grass. But she has never walked in them before and was having a hard time doing so in the grass. So I ended up just taking them off and putting them in my pocket. Once I did that she was FREE!!!!! She went nuts. Walking EVERYWHERE!!! and at one point even tried to run! She was having such a good time walking where ever she wanted to go, without worrying or running into baby gates, walls or anything. She went around picking up dead leaves and carrying them with her. If she squeezed her hand to hard, they would break apart and fly away.. so she would grab another and carry it with her.
She had a good time, and I had fun taking pictures of her and following her. She only tried to eat the grass once and I think she might have snuck in a piece of leaf but I kept an sharp eye on her. Then I noticed the scratches on her arms and a tiny dot of blood on her hand! I picked her up and looked and realized the grass was cutting her everytime she fell! Oh-no! I noticed another cut on her foot so thats when I decided it was time to go home. After showing her a couple of trees up close (She loves trees and tried to put a leaf back) we walked back across the street and home. AFter we came back we told Daddy all about her adventure in the park and she showed him her leaf (yes she was still carrying it and took it home with her). I then gave her a bath and off to bed she went.
It was a fun little adventure. It probably only was about 15-20mins but it created memories that will last a lifetime. It was so cute watching her walk all over the place like a big girl, it really made me think.... wow my little baby is growing up....
