Current Mood: Tired
I thought the days of Mia's "firsts" were pretty much long gone until she went to school but I was wrong. Today she snuck in another first that was totally unexpected!
She has been under the weather since yesterday. Her nose is running like crazy, shes sneezing and at night she becomes congested. I think those were the reasons why she didn't sleep well last night. Every time we passed by her room, she was up and towards the middle of the night (around 2am) she started turning on her bedroom light so she could play. Adrian said he went in there three different times to shut it off and she would wake up a short time later, and turn it back on.
She was up at about 7am this morning so needless to say she was not in the best of moods. I got her up early, fed her breakfast (which was a battle), gave her some medicine and warmed her up as best as I could. I started a fire, had the heaters going and dressed her warm. Alex was sleeping most of the morning so that helped let me focus on Mia. All the added attention and everything I did for her didn't help. She was still moody and when she finally wouldn't listen any more (I was trying to get to her to keep her socks on her feet so she would stop sneezing and help the runny nose) I had enough and I was forced to give her a time out. OH NO!!! Yep, I put her in her room kicking and screaming. She screamed so loud that Daddy came running out of the bedroom half asleep all worried. I told him she was ok and that she was just having a time out. He went into her room and talked to her a bit and convinced her to leave her socks on. When she calmed down and stopped crying she was able to come back out.
The rest of the morning was alright but soon it came time for a nap. Adrian went upstairs with her and decided to lay down with her since he was only on 3 hours of sleep due to being woken up by her screams earlier. To my surprise he took her into our room and had her lie in our bed. This was her first! She has never laid in our bed and to my shock she took her nap there and slept 3 whole hours!! WOW! That is a record for Mia! When she woke up she was back to her happy normal Mia self and was in such a better mood.. YAY!
So that was her first, sleeping in Mama and Dada's bed! Not sure when or if it will happen again but I thought I would blog about the first time it happened... when she was 2.5 years old! haha
