week 125

Current Mood: Exhausted

Good Afternoon everyone and happy Friday! Its that time again, Mia's weekly update! I am not sure how much I can get through right now since Alex isn't quite asleep yet on the couch and Mia is up in her room attempting to take a nap with Dada. She woke up sick.. AGAIN! and has a runny nose like crazy. Infact its more runny than it was when she was previously sick a couple of weeks ago. GREEEAT! I am not sweating it though, whatever happens happens and we will just have to deal with what happens with her cold. Adrian is coming down with it also.. AGAIN! and I am not feeling so hot, but I think lack of sleep is whats wrong with me. So enough dilly dally I need to get on with this update before I pass out!

This week has been pretty fun for Mia. She went out shopping with Dada and came home with new Elmo Slippers, new crayons (because she LOVES to draw/color now), Christmas socks AND Hello Kitty boots! Yes, I know we tend to go overboard with our little girl but we can't help it. She did however, throw her first huge in-store tantrum. It was over the boots. Lucky for me I wasn't there but Adrian said it wasn't pretty. She screamed at the top of her lungs and only stopped when he threatened "night night". When she came home she told me all about what happened in the store, she even reenacted the scream haha.

Later in the week she took another trip to San Diego with Daddy to visit her Grandma Rebecca. Of course she had LOTS of fun and even went out to eat at our favorite Italian restaurant, La Bellas. What is most shocking is that she actually liked their Mintrone soup (which is to DIE for!). What is so great about this is that she refuses to eat any soup at all so this was a big step for her. Daddy even bought her an extra bowl to take home and she had no problems eating it while at home either! I need to learn that recipe ASAP!

Mia is obsessed with coloring and drawing. I thought it was the coolest thing at first until she started breaking her crayons and eating them!!! Once she ate so much of her blue one that it got all stuck in her teeth and she panicked. Daddy came to rescue and brushed her teeth and got it all out. Thats not the end of it though, she likes brushing her teeth so much she now purposely tries to eat her crayons just so she could get her teeth brushed again! Sigh... so now I have to watch her very closely when she has crayons and put them away when shes done.

We also had some fun Mama/Daughter bonding time this week as we cooked our first meal AND cake! The meal was just white rice which is simple to make. She had a blast with that and had so much fun I decided to make a cake too. All we had was Ginger Bread mix (which I had never made before) and we prepared it together. Unfortunately, the cake tasted pretty bad but it wasn't at the fault of Mia or myself.. it was just nasty!! But Mia liked it and I let her have a tiny piece. I can't wait to cook with her again, just not sure what I should make with her next.

Mia is a full fledged Princess Girl now! She loves anything princess and now we are stuck watching Princess Movies on TV now. I don't mind though... anything is better than screaming Elmo! But she loves all things Princess and when she puts on a poofy dress she calls herself a princess and goes nuts. I can't wait until Christmas because we already bought her TONS of princess stuff.

Mia was also introduced into the world of riding Ouchies! Yep, she got her first ouchie while riding her scooter. It happened here in the kitchen while she was bare foot. I didn't see exactly what happened but before I knew it she was on the ground crying and her tiny toe was scrapped and bleeding. Poor baby, but like a champ she only cried for less than a min. and was back on that scooter again! GO MIA!

Yesterday was another big family day! We all went to the park for the first time together! It was Alex's first time out to the park. Mia was so happy to get out of the house and went nuts throwing dirt on bugs, wood chips in her hair, playing in mud, and going down the slide. Alex on the other hand didn't have as much fun and was happy to go back home! haha Once we got home I put Alex to bed while Mia and Daddy went off to get the mail down the street. Mia rode her little three-wheel bike while Daddy pushed her. She used the petals but only when he pushed her, she hasn't quite got the concept of using her body weight to move forward, but shes getting there... at least she can reach the petals.

To my amazement Mia's nap/bed times have gotten 100000000000000 better! She isn't 100% but pretty close. The only bad thing is, one of us has to stay with her until she falls asleep but that is a small price to pay for her not screaming her head off, fighting her up the stairs, hearing her rampage through her room and scream hysterically for 30 mins straight. I have been able to time Alex's naps so I can put her to bed and stay with her, however, if it takes her to long to fall asleep or shes messing around I will leave. She will cry but still not as bad as before. Phew!! Now I can't say her horrible phase is over but at least its manageable for the time being and that gives me some relief!

Well thats about it for now. I am really tired and dizzy so its my turn for a nap. Wish me luck!
