Merry Christmas Eve!!! It's Friday and that time again! Time for... Mia's weekly update!
Again, I have to be quick about it, there is so much to do in such little time. It seems like every weekly blog has been suffering because of the lack of time, but I figure at least I can write something and something is better than nothing.
Well this week I unfortunately caught a cold... ugh! but the good news is it didn't get too too bad and I got over it within a few days, however, the other bad news is I think I gave it to Mia! Oh No!!! What a reverse in roles huh? She usually gives it to me! Well she has been waking up with a draining nose alot and sneezing like crazy. She still acts herself though and hasn't really acted "sick". Hopefully she can kick it soon.
Rain, rain ... go away come back another day! That has been the theme of this week! We experienced a HUGE and I mean HUUUUGE storm this week. It literally rained for more than 6 days straight! Pretty crazy huh? It was flooding everywhere, especially here in Menifee where we literally almost got trapped! 2 out of 3 ways to the freeway were completely underwater! With all the storms and rain it didn't stop us from taking the kids out! Though we didn't want two, 2 times out of last week we had no choice. The first time was when we packed up the clan and all went down to Alex's 2 month well baby check up in Moreno Valley (30 mins away). It was Mia's first time going to one of Alex's well baby check up and she didn't like it much. She not only wanted to sit on the "paper" you sit on in the doctor's office, but she really REALLY didn't like to see Alex get examined by the doctor or get his shots. She kept saying "No like it!" and wanted them to stop. What a great big sister, always trying to protect her little brother. Another time we went out in the storm was when I took the kids to Moreno Valley (again), so I could pick up Alex's pictures. BAD IDEA! It was fine the drive there but on the way home we hit two HUGE pockets of rain. It was so bad I couldn't see! That was scary! but we made it home in one piece and for that I am thankful.
Every week Mia seems to get more and more motherly towards Alex. She hovers over him and watches him like a hawk to make sure hes ok. One day she insisted that I put him in her Elmo chair so she could sit next to him. Well Alex didn't like that and started to cry and for the first time ever she actually tried to comfort him!!! She held him in her arms and gently patted his back. It was the cutest thing I have ever witnessed in my life! She sure loves her baby brother.
She is talking more and more everyday and singing too! One of her favorite songs to sing (other than "we are the champions" and "we will rock you") is Twinkle Twinkle little star. She LOVES when we play the "Dora the Explorer" version of it on YouTube. She will go nuts and almost knows all the words. Sometimes I find her just singing it to herself while she plays. I love it, I can listen to her sing everyday.
The time had come where she finally got to decorate the entire tree! She was so excited about this and actually did pretty good even though she still insists on hanging the ornaments on the lights. I didn't give her all the ornaments I had since some were breakable but I had enough unbreakable ones to let her have some fun. After she was done, however, she insisted on rearranging them every five mins. and taking them off and on. She got so obsessed with the tree that I actually had to de-ornament it while she slept. Bummer.... oh well maybe next year. At least the tree isn't bare, it still has it lights, though the strands are all messed up now since Mia has been pulling on them trying to get her ornaments off! haha
Well thats about it for the week. Time to get ready for the big Christmas Eve party in San Diego! I know I will have more stories to share, till then ... Ho Ho Ho!
