Week 107
Current mood: frustrated
Happy Friday! well.... its semi-happy. This has been a pretty rough week for me to say the least. Trying to adjust to my new meal plan as well as new baby aches and pains hasn't exactly made this week enjoyable... at least for me.
As for Mia, up until today she has been having a great time as always. I say up until today because she is unbearably moody today and is constantly whining and crying over everything and anything. Not sure what is going on but I hope she snaps out of it soon.
The week started off pretty decent, although she did have a "pee pee" accident on Grandpa's bed (our guest bed) that was about the only thing that went wrong. Her Grandpa Pizano was down for a visit and that is always fun. She even got to play in the pool in the front yard!
The rest of the week was pretty mellow. I had a 2 hr doc appointment mid week so she has been spending alot of extra time with Dada, not to mention that we have been waking him up extra early so I can get some rest. Infact they both are out and about together shopping right now and I have the whole house to myself. Since I am not feeling to well I think I will go lay down for awhile.
I know this blog seems pretty short and it is, but I am just not feeling it right now.. sorry

"Oh-No Broke It!"
Current Mood: Amused
The older and older Mia gets the more she seems to crack me up. There is no cease to her curiosity and she is always trying to find new ways to figure out stuff.
Recently she has discovered she can explore in her room when her Mama and Dada leave. Usually this is only happens during naptime since the sun is out and her room is well lit, at night she goes right to bed. Every naptime we can hear her running around upstairs in her room, getting into things and chattering. Recently she has discovered how to unplug her baby monitor, turn off her fan, and turn up the sound on her radio so loud that its booming... literally!
Well this morning started off pretty quietly. I got up pretty early, fixed myself a small breakfast and was reading my diabetes literature on the couch. Then about 8:30am I heard the familiar chatter over the monitor. Yep, Mia was awake. I was going to get her after I was done doing one last thing... well that didn't happen. Before I knew it I heard her run across her room, stop, and then the volume of her radio go to max level!!!! Yep, it was so loud over the monitor I had to jump up and turn it off. It didn't help, the Bee Gee's were blaring so loud upstairs I was afraid it would wake up Adrian! So I quickly started making my way upstairs (which isn't very fast since I am 7 months pregnant!) About half way, I heard a new noise. The vibration of the radio was so strong it caused the CD to jump and start to skip! So now it was stuck on this horribly loud noise that was on repeat! I quickly ran up to her room and swung open the door to stop it.
There Mia was, near her radio! She looked at me with this look of terror in her eyes, ran full blast to me saying "Oh-no!!! Oh-no!!! Broke it!" while pointing at her radio. I quickly went over and turned it off. Mia was still shook up and I had to literally cuddle her for awhile, as her tiny heart raced and she kept repeating "radio broke it! oh-no". I calmed her down, trying my hardest not to laugh and telling her not to touch her radio anymore.
Sigh my little Mia, shes always doing something unexpected... I wonder what tomorrow will bring???

Grandpa Pizano Visit
Current mood: thankful
Grandpa Pizano came down to help out this week. I have to take my gestational diabetes test this week so I needed help with Mia. When my Dad offered to come down to help, of course I jumped at the chance.
MONDAY:
I originally planned to have my 3 hour test done Tuesday morning so my Dad came into town late Monday evening. Mia was still up and was so happy to see my Dad when he walked into the door. She wasn’t shy at all, and infact ran up to hug him. They played for awhile and she showed him her new favorite toy. A little farm with farm animals she got for her birthday. She also made me put on “Queen” so she could dance around and sing! Then before bedtime, we went to change her diaper on the bed in the guestroom. She went NUTS! Her and her Grandpa were playing and playing and she was jumping like crazy. My Dad said he was trying to wear her out but she never pooped out! I warned him Mia is like the energizer bunny, she keeps going and going and going and never stops! Soon she wore out Grandpa and off to bed she went.
Her Grandpa put her to bed, and he said that she DEMANDED he sing to her over and over and tried to kick him a lot. Eventually she settled down enough to go to sleep.. but it did take awhile.
TUESDAY:
The next day we all got up bright and early and headed off to the lab. Mia was still in her jammies! My Dad and Mia dropped me off and I went inside. Unfortunately, there was a scheduling error and I couldn’t get my test done.. ARGH! So I had to call up my Dad to come pick me up again. Poor Mia was just done with her breakfast and was ready to watch some TV when she was put back into the car and back to the lab she went.
After getting picked up I felt really sick, so the first thing I did was run inside the house and eat! Mia was in a good mood and was playing with Grandpa. I cooked some food then started to organize and pack up Mia’s room while Grandpa watched her downstairs. They watched cartoons together, played with her farm and jumped around… well Mia did the jumping. I could hear her laughs coming from downstairs it was so cute.
Oh I almost forgot to mention, during nap time ....Adrian.... put her to bed. She refused to settle down and he eventually had to leave. He stayed outside her room in the tech center working on something and he said he could hear her scratching on her door. He didn’t think to much about it. Well when I went to get her up almost 2 hours later, I opened the door and felt someone blocking it!!! I closed it and opened it slowly again and again something was blocking it. I peeked around the side and saw Mia’s legs sprawled out on the floor! For an instant I panicked something was wrong, I quickly called her “Mia! Mia!” She slowly moved then laid back down, I told her to get up so I could come I and eventually she moved enough to let me squeeze by. I sat down on the floor next to her. She was barely waking up. I asked her why was she sleeping on the floor!!!! (she had her blankey with her too) she just lifted her head rested it in my lap and rested there for a bit. I rubbed her head for awhile until she fully woke up then we went downstairs together to finish the rest of the day. Silly girl!
My Dad also got a first hand experience on how bossy Mia is becoming. If she was jumping on the bed and he got up to leave she would demand for him to go “night night” which means to lay down, and she pointed at the bed. She refused to let him leave. Later if my Dad got up she would get mad and demand he “sit down”! she would following him everywhere demanding he “sit down” and get mad until she did! Yep shes one bossy girl just like her Mama! haha
Later in the evening she started to get tired and moody, she refused to eat dinner so we knew it was time for bed. So we changed her diaper and again she went nuts jumping on the bed! After a good bounce work out Grandpa put her to bed. It didn’t take long before she fell back asleep.
WEDNESDAY:
This was a very busy and tiring day for me. I had to take my 3 hour glucose test which was NOT any fun. My Dad took me to the lab at 7:30am and stayed with me for the first hour. Mia was asleep with ....Adrian.... at home. When my Dad made it back home and checked on her, she was standing behind her door. She gave him a mean look as if to say “where were you!? I have been awake a long time now!” haha He got her up, fed her breakfast and later the two of them picked me up at the doctor’s office.
Mia was so happy to see me, my Dad said she kept saying “Mama? Mama?” a lot and lit up when she finally saw me come out of the building. I love my little baby so much!
I was STARVING to say the least so my Dad took me to my favorite sandwhich place, submarina and I scarfed down a pepper turkey sandwhich like nothing.
The rest of the day was spent recovering. I was NOT feeling well at all from all that I went through so Mia spent extra time with Grandpa! They both had fun watching TV, playing and going nuts. Later that night my Dad attempted to wear her out by letting her bounce as much as she wanted on the guestbed. He didn’t realize that she NEVER tires out! That little girl has so much energy its unreal! An hour later she was bouncing as hard and fast as she was the first 2 mins! Finally my Dad had to throw in the towel and we had to coax her off to bed. She slept pretty good after that.
THURSDAY:
Again, when my Dad got Mia in the morning she was sleeping behind the door again. For some reason she no longer likes to stay in her bed. I can’t figure it out! Well my Dad got her up in the morning while I got some extra sleep. Its been over a year since the last time I was able to sleep in, in the morning and it was so nice. I slept all the way until 11am!!! That was a record for me!
When I got up, I found Mia and my Dad hanging out downstairs. She was already fed and was playing with her farm toys with her Grandpa.
The weather was already started showing signs of heating up so the three of us (....Adrian.... was still sleeping) decided to go to a smoothie shop. So we packed Mia up in the car and off to “Juice It” we went. Neither my Dad or myself have ever tried this particular store but it was the closest to us, and near Super Target (we had to pick up a few things there as well)
Once we got to the smoothie place we ordered our smoothies. Mia didn’t get one but we shared with her. She seemed to like my Pineapple drink more than her Grandpa’s. The funny thing is, I think she was getting cold by the drinks because she developed goose bumbs and started shivering! Haha
After we drank a bit we went next door to Target. By then I was feeling a bit winded and not so well. So my Dad dropped me off in front of the store while he and Mia parked the car. Mia was not to happy that I left the car and kept asking for “Mama! Mama!”
Once we got into the store we went shopping. I returned a pair of sandals she had received on her birthday (due to having a duplicate pair already) and with the money I set out to buy her another pair. It turns out they didn’t have a huge selection, however, we did come across the CUTEST pair of Tinkerbell sandals!!! They were a bit more than the originally sandals but since the gift came from my parents my Dad offered to buy them for her. AWWWW!!! Mia fell in love instantly with the new sandals and demanded she wear them. So there we were, pushing Mia around in the cart while she wore the unpaid for sandals on her feet. The string that attached the pair together was still on! We later had to go to customer service to have them cut it off so she could walk.
Along with the sandals Mia was spoiled with more goodies from her Grandpa. He bought her a cute little “Strawberry Fields Forever” –Beatles, pink shirt … a bag of alphabet magnets, and cute little blue basket so she could put her “little people” toys in. I bought her some new water diapers (we had planned for her to go into the pool later that day). It was a fun shopping trip and in the end Mia and Grandpa shared a pretzel.
When we got home, I received the news I so didn’t want to hear. I ended up being diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes afterall… bummer! I was seriously bummed out about it but with the help of my Dad, Mia and Adrian they helped cheer me up a bit. Soon it was time for Mia’s nap so my Dad and I walked her up to her room for a nap. I took off her sandals and she BLEW UP! She was so upset I had to leave the room. The rest of the time she was complaining and crying to her Grandpa, “Mama shoes! Mama shoes!”
Later in the afternoon, when the sun started to go down (since it was still 90+ outside) I drug out Mia’s little pool. After her nap we fed her lunch and off to the front yard she went for a nice cooling dip. It was so cute to see her in her new bathing suit she got for her birthday! This one actually fit!!!
Right away she ran and got into the pool. Grandpa poured water on her and played for a bit. As Mia played in her pool, my Dad and I watched on while sitting on some chairs in the shade. It was slowly cooling down and a breeze was starting to blow. I decided to grab a few more toys for Mia to play with and went into the house, actually the garage. I wasn’t gone to long, and when I came back inside I was shocked to see a crying wet Mia standing in front of our front door, and my Dad’s shirt covered in water! I didn’t know what happened or if something was wrong. I asked “what happened” and my Dad explained how a Tornado swept across the street and he grabbed Mia and ran inside! I said “What?!?!” and he explained how he heard a massive wind noise that was coming down the street. Within seconds it was in front of our neighbors house across the street from us. It was a huge dust funnel that was spinning at such a high rate that it bend my neighbor’s tree and a huge branch broke off. Soon it started spinning out of control and was making its way across the street towards our house!!! That’s when my Dad jumped up, grabbed Mia out of the pool and ran her inside the house. She didn’t know what was going on and was still holding her little water cup!
Wow! I know we have weird weather here, but never thought a tornado would be across our street! Haha Once the sun was finally down and it started to get cold, and Mia was shivering in her pool we decided pool time was over. My Dad had the awesome idea of dumping her in the bath afterwards. She needed a bath anyway. So I got her bath ready and my Dad brought her inside and into the tub she went. She warmed up right away and had a blast playing with her toys.
Then came the hair washing time… Uh-Oh! This is always a challenge with her and getting WORSE! It has gotten so bad that ....Adrian.... has to wash her hair because I can’t struggle with her being so far along pregnant wise. ....Adrian.... was at work so he couldn’t do it so it was Grandpa to the rescue! Of course she put up a fight, and even tried to climb out of the tub but Grandpa wouldn’t let her. He did a great job washing her hair and I was really impressed. Maybe because of the fact I have never seen him wash any one hair before haha
After bathtime, I got her jammies on and we attempted to feed her dinner. She really didn’t want to eat to much and actually fell asleep at the table on her Grandpa’s chest. She was all tuckered out, so off to bed Grandpa carried her and that ended another fun day.
FRIDAY:
Due to the bad news about my diagnoses I was still feeling pretty bummed out. That’s when my Dad took myself and Mia to WinCo. So I could stock up on food I could eat. It was a shopping adventure.. checking labels and making food choices. Mia was pretty good in the cart and didn’t cause to much of a fuss.
After WinCo. We stopped by Del Taco next door to pick up some lunch, and that’s when my Dad, who was driving, accidentally scuffed my rear rim. It wasn’t a big deal but my Dad felt bad. Infact he felt so bad that after we got home and he put Mia for a nap, he ran off to Temecula find a store that carried something to take the tiny scrape out. He went to multiple stores all around Temecula and as gone for a long while.
While Grandpa was gone, Mia finally woke up from her nap and the first thing she did was come downstairs and look for Grandpa all happily. When she couldn’t find him she started to call out to him and looked so sad. I told her he would be back but she was still upset. Eventually I got her to snap out of it.
Later her diaper needed to be changed so I took her to the guestroom where we usually change diapers. In the middle of the diaper change, Mia got away from me on the bed and peed BIG TIME! All over Grandpa’s sheets! Oh-No!! I tried to grab her but she still got away from me and started bouncing around on her wet butt making pee butt prints on the rest of the clean sheets! I soon had to tackle her, put on her diaper and ran the sheets upstairs to be washed. I also had to scrub the mattress… not fun! I guess she wasn’t to happy Grandpa was gone! Haha
Later my Dad came back and came in with some steaks to cook up for dinner. Mia was so happy to see him again. Then my Dad and I cooked up a STORM for dinner. He cooked his famous steaks while I cooked up some mashed potatoes and steamed some veggies! We ate like royalty that night and it was soooo good.
Before Mia’s bedtime we played some music for her. My Dad found one of his favorite 80s songs and played it for her. It was “Girls just wanna have fun” – Cyndi Lauper. They both danced in the livingroom a bit before she wanted to be picked up. It was fun seeing them play together and once Mia grew tired off to bed she went.
SATURDAY:
Well Saturday was the final day my Dad would be with us. It was so sad, but we knew we would see him again soon. He got Mia up in the morning and gave her breakfast. Before had had to leave he spend a good 30 mins playing with Mia. She was laughing and screaming and having so much fun with him. They both were going nuts in the living room and I was getting a kick out of watching them. Then Mia did the unexpected.. something she RARELY does with even us! She was so happy and excited she leaned over and started peppering my Dad with kisses just like we do to her! Awwwwww!!!! She was so happy.
Then it was time for my Dad to go home. We put Mia down for a nap before he left so she wouldn’t get so sad watching him drive away (which she always does). Adrian and I said our sad goodbyes to my Dad and he drove away. Mia woke up a while later and again started looking everywhere for my Dad and calling out to him. It was so sad. She was pretty grumpy the rest of the night and we ended up putting her to bed early. Even a quick outing with Dada didn’t help her mood, she was really sad.
Well its been a GREAT week having my Dad here. Time always flys by so fast when he is here. I am so grateful that he is able to come down and help when he can and we are so blessed for that. I can’t wait until the next visit, I believe it may happen sometime the end of Aug. when ..Adrian.. has an early training in ....San Diego.... for a week. We can’t wait!... especially Mia!

The pee pee incident!
Current mood: amused
I don't know what it is about this week but our guest bed has taken a beating from Mia. I am not talking about her constantly jumping and bouncing around either! The worst part is it all had to happen when my Dad was visiting or about to visit!
The other day Mia got a poopie diaper. I took her to the guestroom (where all her diaper supplies are) to change her. Of course she did her usual thing, climbed on the bed and started jumping and bouncing around until I was ready to change her. I grabbed all the things I needed, sat on the bed and was ready to grab her to change her but she wanted no part of it. She jumped away from and and bounced so hard a small round poopie fell out of her diaper and rolled onto the bed! ON NO!!!!!!! EWW!!!! I panicked, grabbed the poopie off the bed with a wippee before she could smash it while jumping, tackled Mia and changed her diaper before more could bounce out! It was so gross! Unfortunately, for Mia, she wouldn't settle down enough for me to change her diaper right so she got a few little spanks on her bootie buns! I know!!! I hate doing that but I couldn't risk having her rolling around and having balls of poopie fly everywhere! After her spanks she was still enough for me to finish what I was doing and once that was over with she was up and bouncing again like nothing happened!
Well yesterday was another incident. The poopie one happened the day my Dad was coming into town. This one happened while he was out running an errand for me. Mia had a huge pee pee diaper so I took her to the room to change her once again. Again, she jumped and bounced on the bed until I gathered all that I needed to change her. Once I was ready I tackled her and changed her diaper. She didn't like this, of course, and rolled away from me diaper free! Thats right, her bootie buns where exposed and she thought it was funny. I didn't have her like that long, actually only long enough to roll up her pee pee diaper before I noticed a HUGE and I mean HUUUUGE wet spot on the bed! Yep she peed on the bed and I don't mean alittle either! I quickly jumped up and tried to rip off the sheets before the pee soaked into the mattress. Mia thought it was a game and jumped up and started bouncing around on the bed away from me. What was worse is she would bounce around on her bare wet butt and was putting pee pee butt prints all over the clean sheets!!!! GROSS!!! I quickly grabbed her, put a new diaper on her and threw all the sheets in the washer!!!!
UGH! What a silly little girl I have on my hands .... guess its back to using the changing table again! lol

Week 106
Current mood: hungry
Hello! Sheesh what a week! At first I thought it was a quiet one, but when I started to really think back it was far from being quiet!
It started off HOT HOT HOT! We took Mia with us to Adrian's company picnic in San Diego and we FRIED! It was so hot that our car tempt reached 105!! Needless to say we only lasted an hour before leaving. Well, it was more of ME not lasting longer than an hour... Mia never seemed to care about the heat and rather play in the dirt and sun! YIKES!
We also took her to a placed called John's Incredible Pizza Co. It is sort of like Chuck E Cheese but WAAAAY better. They have an all you can eat buffet, cool games and rides! Mia LOVED being there and got on their mini- roller coaster 5! times! Shes my little brave daredevil! We ended up staying there 4 hours and it didn't even feel like it!
Mia also took her very first shower this week! Now that was a milestone waiting to happen. It actually went very well.... well until we had to wash her hair. That is always a challenge. For some reason she HATES it now and acts like we are trying to kill her! I can't wait until she grows out of that.
The rest of the week has been awesome! Mostly because Grandpa Pizano came to visit us! I had to take my 3 hour gestational diabetes test and needed alittle extra help with Mia so my Dad came to the rescue. He has been here all week and its been nothing but fun. The only non-fun part was when I was actually diagnosed with having gestational diabetes but I know with alittle diet change, some support from my family, I will make it through these next couple of months with no problems.
While Grandpa has been here, Mia has gotten the royal treatment (as usual). We have taken her to stores, went on a shopping spree, shes drank a smoothie, AND she got to play in the pool. The only scary time was when a tornado swept across the street and Grandpa had to yank her out of the pool and run her into the house! Ya we have weird weather here!
A new thing that she also started this week, which I don't particularly like... is she no longer wants to sleep in her bed and stay there. Mostly after naps I find her asleep on the floor behind the door!!! When Grandpa has gotten her up in the morning shes always standing behind the door AND when you try to put her to bed she refuses to get in her bed and wants to set up her pillows and blankets behind the door on the floor! I don't get it.
Well thats about it for the week. I am sure I will have more stories to share but as for now I need to eat!!!

John's Incredible Pizza Co.

Current mood: accomplished
I told you we would find a way to come up with an adventure this weekend. It is never a dull moment in the Cardoso house thats for sure.
Well today started like any other day... kind of lazy and nothing really great happening. Then Adrian woke up and came downstairs. He asked me if I had checked my email and I told him no. He said he sent me an email to see if I wanted to check out a new place he heard about. It was a place called "John's Incredible Pizza Co.". It is a cross between Dave and Busters and Chuck E Cheese. I quickly jumped on the website and checked it out and it looked soooo cool!!!! It was so much bigger (and cleaner) than Chuck E Cheese and had more rides and games!! We HAD to check it out! The other good thing was, it was nearby in Riverside (city).
So after Mia's nap we all go ready and zoomed down there. It was SO HOT again today and driving through Moreno Valley it peaked at 107!!! Yikes! I was glad that the pizza place was indoors.
It wasn't to hard to get to and only took us about 20 mins. Once we got there and went inside, the first thing we noticed is how HUGE the place was and though there were tons of people it wasn't crowded. There was tons of space to walk around and not bump into screaming kids or pushy parents! NICE!!!!!
It only cost Adrian and myself $9 a piece to get in and Mia was free. They also had an all you can eat buffet!!! So we walked around a bit then decided to eat. I was a bit leery about how the food would taste but to my surprise it was actually really good!!! Tons of variety and the quality was pretty good! They had about 5 different rooms you could eat in, each with its own theme. So if one room area was to packed you could go to another. We decided on the music video room and grabbed a booth there.
Mia really wasn't to interested in eating, she wanted to go on the rides and play games. So to entertain herself while Mama and Dada ate, she bounced on the booth like if it was one of her jumpers! haha
After we got stuffed we walked over to the games and rides area. The first ride we put Mia on was the tiny carolsel. She LOVED it and rode it a good 5-6 times before we had to drag her off to check out other things. Of course she wasn't to pleased with this, but was quickly distracted by all the other neat things to check out. She rode a tiny little train but refused to ride a tiny little dragon (not sure why). We had her play the "pound the gopher with the hammer" game but wasn't to interested in that either. We showed her a few more games like the "claw game" and later took her to play skeet ball. She actually enjoyed this, she loved throwing the balls up the ramp but she couldn't get them all the way up. Soon balls were flying everywhere!!! including the game next to us!! haha
Then we saw a train roller coaster!!! It really didn't have dips but it was REALLY fast and I mean FAST!!! Mia wanted to get on it so Dada took her. Sure enough that thing zoomed around like no body's business. Even Adrian said it was a bit fast, but Mia loved it! She screamed and cheered smiled. She refused to get off of it and made Dada take her on it again!!! haha She ended up riding that roller coaster 5 times! Poor Dada! haha
There were some other games we had her play. Like a bowling game and one of those air pressured gun games. She had so much fun and was smiling so much. They even had a playground area with slides and other rides, and she got to play there as well.
Soon I got tired. My tummy started to hurt from being on my feet to long so I had to leave Adrian and Mia while I sat down back at the food area. While I was gone, they got on the train one last time then turned in their tickets to get prizes. When they found me, Mia was holding a Giant red balloon on a stick, wearing a glitter bracelet and had a pink punch hand in one hand. She was so happy, until we sat down. She wanted to keep exploring but Mama and Dada were tired! We munched out a bit more then looked at the clock. Could you believe we were there for 4 hours!!!!! I didn't even seem that long!! Guess time really does fly by when you are having fun!!!
So after we munched it was time to go. Mia was not to happy about it but it was near her bedtime so she had no choice. We said byebye to John's and headed back home. Now Adrian is upstairs with her putting her to bed. I think we will join her soon... all of us are pooped!
Wow what a fun filled day. I love days where we do spur of the moment unplanned things and they work out!! Sure makes up for the horrible time we had at the company picnic yesterday!! haha I can't wait to go back to John's infact we already signed up as VIP members!!
