Happy Friday!!! Well this is it .... Mia last weekly blog before she hits 2! Can you believe it?! Thats right, my little munchkin's birthday is in a couple of days (Sunday) and I can't wait. She is so big now and yes even the "terrible twos" are setting in... ugh that part is not so fun but it is a challenge I am ready for ... I think.
Well this week has been fun. Finally a week that has more than 1 or 2 stories haha. It all started off with Mia trying to make friends with the cat. For some reason she is really into "Feeding" her stuffed animals, in particular her toys cats. So when our pet cat Mew Mew made an appearance after Adrian warmed up some Carne Asada, Mia felt it necessary to share a piece of meat with the cat!!! She kept insisting as Mew Mew tried to reject it (She isn't to fond of Mia). Mia would follow her around and kept putting the meat on the ground in front of her but Mew Mew would refuse to eat it. Eventually, after Mew Mew realized Mia's unstoppable encouragement, she finally gave in and ate the tiny piece of meat from Mia's hand. Mia was so proud of herself and so happy, she had the biggest smile on her face and Mew Mew ran away haha
This week was also 4th of July!!! Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding from the local website, we missed the fireworks this year. Bummer! But Mia did get to play in a new play ground and swung on the swings like a big girl for the first time, unassisted!!! We also took her to Best Buy to run around a bit and for the first time I got to see her really get into the music section. She loved banging away at the keyboards and pounding the drums. She definately has music in her blood!
I always knew what a blueberry monster Mia is, but this week really proved it. Adrian took her to the store to buy some groceries and picked up some blueberries too. Once Mia caught site of those little berries she went NUTS! She insisted on snacking on them the rest of the time and when Adrian tried to take them away, she started shoveling them in her mouth faster than she could chew! then screamed when he took them away. She is still that way, sometimes when she is doing something I can't stop her from doing I try to bribe her with things. NOTHING seems to work to distract her... nothing but ... yup you guessed it... blueberries! She will do anything for blueberries. The only bad thing... well for us mainly, is too many blueberries don't really agree with her tummy so we get a pretty nasty surprise during diaper changes... YUCK!
Shake rattle and roll! Yep we had another earthquake here this week. This time it was only a 5.4 but we felt it good where we live. I was putting clothes on Mia since we were getting ready to go out and it hit. Mia didn't seem to care much but when she saw the windows shaking she right away said "Uh-Oh" and tried to look outside. Of course I didn't let her near them and held her until it was over. I am glad to see she isn't too afraid of them yet, hopefully that will continue, since we do seem to be having alot of them lately.
Since it is so close to Mia's birthday, Daddy decided to treat her to a tiny Pinata that they sell at the grocery store. Mia got to pick out the one she wanted (A little pink unicorn) and once she got home she went nuts. First she tried to feed it her cup of blueberries, then tried to sit on it and ride it like a horse! After all that fun was done, she tore off its mane and shredding it up! Poor horsey! Ah well, she did have fun with it for awhile though.
Well thats about it for the week. I KNOW for a fact I will be writing alot this weekend ... it will be such a milestone weekend for her. Wow, two years old! It really just feels like yesterday that I was pregnant with her ... man how time flys. Well we will be heading up to Oxnard tomorrow so we can spend her birthday with her Grandparents and Nina and Nino and cousins. We can't really afford a party this year and with me being pregnant I couldn't stomach the stress of hosting one ... literally. So we are having a tiny quiet one at her Nino's house. It should be fun, I am making the cake, and it will be a Foofa cake! Hope it comes out alright!! I am sure I will have lots of fun stories to share.
