Current mood: amused
I always find it so amusing how Mia is showing more and more of my characteristics as she gets older. She may look like Dada but her personality is all me, ask anyone this. Even her tastes in foods are similar to me, she LOVES olives just like her Mama but our most favorite thing of all is Blueberries!!!!
So when Adrian took Mia to the store, and bought her some blueberries, he didn't realize what was in store for him. He was about to meet the Mini Blueberry Monster I call Mia!
As the story goes, he brought her into the store. She just ate lunch so she wasn't hungry. They hit the produce isle first and thats where he noticed the blueberries. They are finally in season and were on sale!!!
Mia LOVES blueberries. We would buy TONS of blueberries for her when she was very little and she loved them ever since. When they would go out of season we would feed her the frozen ones and she would still gobble them up like nothing.
So when Adrian placed the big blueberry container in the basket Mia right away recognized what they were and DEMANDED she have some. She started to fuss and squirm until Adrian took some out and fed them to her. She ate them happily and the rest of the shopping trip was spent giving her blueberries here and there.
Eventually it was time to pay for the food. Adrian then decided to pick up our favorite pizza on our way out. (Leonardi's is in the store itself). While waiting for them to process the order Mia got more and more antsy, she wanted more blueberries!!! So Adrian just gave her the whole container so she could feed herself!!! BAD IDEA!!!
Mia happily munched on the blueberries, carefully eating them one by one the whole time they were waiting for the pizza to be ready. She munched on them on the way to the car and munched on them while Dada put the groceries in the trunk. Soon all that was left to be put in the car were the blueberries....
So Adrian told Mia, "Ok last one!" (Mia knows this phrase very well). She then did the unexpected. She frantically shoved her hand in the container and tried to grab as many blueberries as her tiny hand could hold. Adrian was shocked and just watched her. He figured she just wanted a handful to take in the car with her but no Mia started shoving handful of blueberries in her mouth as fast as she could! She NEVER stuffs her mouth like that, which is even more surprising. She knew they were going to be taken away and she wanted to get as many as she could in her mouth. So Adrian quickly had to take the container away before she started to choke. Of course Mia blew up! and had a full on hysterical crying fit in the parking lot and cried the whole way home.
When they got home, Adrian warned me about the blueberries and how not to let her get ahold of them in the bag while he unloaded the car. I went to the kitchen trying to find them but she beat me to it! Uh-Oh!! She lit up and got all happy when she found them and brought them to me to open. Oh-No!! So I had to think fast, I told her "Ok but we have to put them in a bowl" so she found her bowl and I put a small handful in and quickly hid the rest of the container. She gobbled down her blueberries like nothing then asked for more. I told her there were no more and was surprised to see she believed me and went about her day.
Now you can see why I call her my little Blueberry Monster! No blueberry is safe while she is around... haha
