A week with Grandpa

Current Mood: Tired

This has been a HUGE week for all of us. Alex was born this week so my Dad was here to help out with anything we needed. Mia loved it since my Dad's main job was her! He didn't mind though, he loves his little Amazin' Mia to death! Since Alex is a pure breastfed baby and sleeps 90% of the day there isn't much that my Dad can do to help out in that department so he dedicated ALL his time to Mia.

While I was in the hospital he took care of Mia. Once in awhile Daddy would come home and they would trade spots so my Dad could visit me in the hospital but most of the time he was Mia. She did good too! Her tantrums (other than bed time) were at a minimum and she has been loving being the princess!

Again, bedtime has been becoming a HUGE problem. She throws the biggest tantrum in the WORLD! She literally shakes the house when she jumps up and and down in the room. So the first few nights my Dad stayed with her until she feel asleep. They had their own little tradition going where my Dad would talk about a "Puppy" and make a up a story for her. Soon she always asked for the "puppy" story. It was cute, however, if he left earlier than she fell asleep or if Adrian put her to sleep the ground shaking trantum would happen. So unfortunately, we had to make adjustments... especially since my Dad was here for the week. So instead of staying with Mia he just had to put her to bed and close the door. Heart breaking I know! I felt it too! but it has to be done. Her tantrum duration seem to be getting less but its still hard, I know especially for my Dad who doesn't get to see her to often.

Anyway on to more fun stuff. Mia got to to go to the store with my Dad a couple of times and the best thing of all my Dad took her to John's Incredible Pizza Co. which is alot like Chucky Cheese but better!! She had a BLAST there and came home full of stories to share and two giant balloons!

The rest of the visit was spent watching cartoons and playing. She is slowly adjusting to Alex being home and only gets up set when Grandpa picks him up or holds him. She demands to be picked up too! So ya, my Dad has his hands full... literally! She has been getting treats like her favorite, Cheetos! and even ate some taco shells my Dad made. She called them "Chippies" and would constantly go "Mmmm...mmm.. chippies good!" haha Such a cutiepie!

Well today my Dad is going home. I am so sad to see him go but I know he will be back soon.... very soon... hopefully sometime next week! haha Can you tell I am a bit nervous about my solo flight with my new grown family?! haha Overall, Mia loves it when Grandpa visits and loves her Grandpa so much. She sticks to him like glue! I am not looking forward to him leaving because Mia takes it so hard. She cries for him and for at least 2 days after hes gone she still looks for him in the house going "Grandpa.. where are you?!" Hopefully this time around will be easier.... I seriously doubt it though
