Current mood: shocked
For the past couple of months, Mia has made it impossible to put her to bed/nap without a fight and fuss. I mean its so bad she screams at the top of her lungs and makes the whole process very disheartening. She wants you to stay with her until she falls asleep, the only bad thing is... she NEVER falls asleep. She will either play with her toys, roll around non-stop, or talk up a storm!! So needless to say, whenever Mia needs sleep its never a fun process.
Well yesterday we had a treat. She skipped her nap (since we tried to make it out to the Pumpkin Patch and it was CLOSED! so we went shopping instead), Daddy took her out to the park, and we gave her a warm bath, so you know what that means... TIRED MIA! Whoohoo!! She was so tired that she went to bed at 7:30pm and was out within 5-10mins! I was able to sneak out of her room and a big fuss fest was avoided!
Well today I decided, "Hey why not skip her nap again, maybe I will get lucky and she will knock out quickly at bedtime?!?!" Adrian agreed it wouldn't be to bad to test it out, so we made plans to hit up Target for some last min. baby shopping instead of putting Mia down for a nap.
Before we could go Adrian had to make a few phone calls, so Mia and I hung out downstairs. She was having fun in the guestroom bouncing on the bed and acting silly. Then she found her hair stuff and made me put a bow, 2 crowns, and two pairs of sunglasses on her!!! I thought it was the cutest thing, I was going to take a picture of her but decided to show Dada first before she decided to take it all off.
So we both went upstairs to surprise Dada. He took one look at her and chuckled.. then she did the most unexpected thing EVER! She gave him a hug, went to her room, got my attention and blew three kisses to me and closed the door and went to bed!!!! WHOA!!! Adrian and I just looked at each other stunned! We waited for her to realize that she couldn't open her door again but she didn't care.. soon she was knocked out on her bed... wearing her crown and all! haha
She took a 2 hour nap, so going to Target was out but hey at least she got some sleep. I was happy for the fuss-less nap time, but boy did she make up for it during bedtime... ah well...
