Hello Everyone! Today Mia is 28 Months old today!!!! My little girl is growing up so fast and time is still flying by. It seems like yesterday that I was writing her 27 month blog the day Alex came home from the hospital. I know if I close my eyes and open them both my kids will be all grown up! OH NO! I am not ready for that. But until then I will enjoy every waking second I have with them.
This month has been a very TRYING month. Mia has decided to be a full fledge terrible 2 toddler and its been hard on ALL of us that cross her path wrong. She is definately stretching her wings a bit and testing us like crazy. I know all of this has happened because of Alex but we are working with her as best as we can. The tantrums have increased and she has been more and more emotional. Night time is still a disaster and we are constantly trying to find ways to make the transition to bedtime easier for her. So far nothing has worked but we haven't stop trying.
Adjusting to Alex has been alright, though she likes her brother "I like it, baby!" as what she would say, she still has a hard time whenever I need to tend to him. Especially if we are playing together first. I try to involve her as best as I can but some days... well most of the days, she wants me all to herself (or her Dad, or Grandparents if they are watching her and suddenly Alex needs them). Hopefully with time, things will get better... my biggest fear is she will start to reject Alex altogether and soon say "No like it, baby!".
Overall the month hasn't been to horrible, not as much as it COULD be. She is still a very good girl aside from those times she decides to transform into Mia Monster.

She likes to feel involved with the baby, if I am nursing him she wants to hold his foot, she loves to hold his hands and give him little kisses on the head. She also talks to him "its ok baby" if hes crying
Daddy took her to jump in the bounce house at the pumpkin patch a few times
She learned to climb the inflatable slide at the pumpkin patch all by herself

Shes LOVES to sing along to songs, even if she doesn't know the lyrics she will sound them out
Her new favorite toy is her sing-a-long Elmo toy with the microphone, she will spend so much time sitting there and singing along with him
Mia is fully in her Terrible 2 stage
Helped Grandma clean the kitchen, now she LOVES to clean things with a rag or paper towel and sings too
Mama and Mia had a battle, she had a HUGE tantrum and finally I had to put her in her room for a time out
Daddy bought her a toy slide and kitchen and she LOVES to play with both
She is learning to pretend more and use her imagination
She is starting to say "Cheese!" to the camera, though she doesn't really smile
She loves to wear her Mickey mouse ears and even went grocery shopping with them on. She even fell asleep with them on her head
She LOVES to pretend to trick-or-treat now and still carries around her pumpkin bucket. She puts things in there while saying "Trick-or-treat" then says "thank you" afterwards
Once the UPS guy rang our doorbell and she ran over saying "trick-or-treat!"
She is taking more showers now but she still gets a bath
GOALS MET FROM LAST MONTH?:
Well as for the goals they are semi met, but not really. She has accepted her baby brother himself but has not accepted our attention towards him. She is my little helper.. sort of, but you can't ask her for anything, she has to do it on her own. For example you can't ask "Mia can you bring me his binky?" she is will say "NO!" however, if she sees it laying around she will bring his binky to me. Naps have gotten better but only because Adrian lays down with her, and night time is still a nitemare!!!
GOALS FOR NEXT MONTH:
Accept our attention towards Alex a bit more. Work on a good reward system for her so bedtime isn't such a nitemare. Take her outside more (if weather permits)
