“Hold Baby” that is pretty much all you hear in our house. Mia always insists that I hold the baby and only me. If Adrian, my Dad, Adrian’s Mom or anyone else holds Alex she goes nuts and insists that I “Hold Baby”. Well yesterday she did a first….
I have noticed that she has been carrying around HER little baby doll recently. She got it for Christmas from her Grandma Rebecca but up until now she never really cared about it. Now that Alex is around, I have noticed her little baby doll is making an appearance more and more. The other day she was carrying it, burping it, putting it in Alex’s bed, and even trying to get me to “feed” it like Alex too! Haha
Yesterday was no exception. She started carrying around that baby doll again and even tried to feed it some carrots she was eating. What really surprised me though, and the reason for this blog, is she came to me in the kitchen (holding her baby) while I was cooking. She looked up at me and insisted that I “Hold Baby” I was shocked that she was acting the same way she does with Alex. Though I was extremely busy cooking and didn’t want to burn anything, I stopped what I was doing kneeled down to Mia’s level and said “ok”. I gently took her baby from her arms in the manner I would with Alex, very carefully, and held him over my shoulder like I do Alex. I talked to him softly and patting his back. I then cradled the baby in my arms and rubbed his head like I do Alex. Mia was all happy. I knew then I couldn’t just put down the doll or she would get upset so I ended up holding that little doll in my arms (like I would Alex) and continued to cook (it wasn’t easy! Haha). After watching me for a bit Mia eventually got bored and ran off and I could finally put her baby down.
I thought it was really cute and I just had to share that little story. I just hope jealousy doesn’t arise between Alex and her baby! haha
