Mia goes Poopies in the Bathroom AGAIN!

Current Mood: Surprised

Wow! Mia is still surprising me left and right. Today she went poopies in the bathroom again! I am so proud of her, however, we did have a "incident" it didn't quite go as planned...

Again, the morning was a regular one. I got Mia up, fed her breakfast (1 egg, a small pancake, small cup of grapes, a glass of Milk and half a banana ... yes she can eat ALOT haha) and we watched her shows on the couch together and waited for Alex to wake up. Once Alex woke up, I fed him and off to bed he went. Mia was happy about this because it meant more time with Mama, one on one.

We were hanging out in the livingroom when she mentioned poopies and looked like she had to go. I really didn't feel like potty training her at that moment since I was tired, but I knew I had to keep encouraging her when I could so I asked her if she wanted to go poopies in the potty. Right away she said "Poopies in Potty" and high tailed it to the bathroom... I followed close behind.

Once we reached the bathroom and I took off her pants and diaper she surprised me by letting me know she wanted to sit on the big girl toilet and not her potty. I was so shocked because she has never wanted to sit on that toilet willingly. The very few times I've tries shes either cried or wanted to get off ASAP. So I went with it. I tried to place her little potty detachable seat to the toilet but she wanted no part of that, she wanted to sit on it like Mama does haha. So I picked her up and sat her on it and held her so she wouldn't fall.

Right away her eyes lit up she was so happy and excited. I then told her, "Ok go poopies" Thats when I saw her tense up a bit and actually try to poop. Nothing happened but when she let out a little fart she looked up with the biggest smile on her face and said "COOL!" haha and looked behind her and into the toilet. I said "cool!" too and checked but nothing was there. She tried a couple more times before she wanted back down. Once she got down I asked her to sit on her potty but she said "no!" I then asked, "Do you want to sit on Mama's potty?" "NO!" "Mia's potty" "NO" "Put your diaper back on?" "NO" uh-oh I was in trouble.

She then went around the bathroom to play. I kept trying to get her back on at least one of the two potties but she refused each time I asked. Then she tried to go outside the bathroom. That when I had to shut the door. All I kept envisioning was her running around and peeing or pooping in the hallway carpet or me chasing her all over the place. I told her she couldn't leave without putting a diaper back on and she began to get mad. I then tried to pick her up so I could put her back on the toilet because I knew she could poop at anytime. Of course she started to get stiff and tantrum so I put her back down. I didn't want to make the experience a bad one so I didn't scold her. She stood there and like a flash a poop fell out onto the floor! "OH NO POOPIE" I grabbed her and tried to force her to sit on her potty before more came out but as I was putting her down another poop fell out and landed on the seat and she sat on it! OH NO!!! She sprang up and almost started crying!!! So I quickly tried to make light of it and told her "its ok clean clean" and I cleaned her seat as fast as I could and then cleaned her. She was happy again, then turned around and pointed at the poop on the floor "Oh No! Poopie on Floor! Poopie on Floor!" "Its ok, look Mia poopie goes in potty" I said as I grabbed a TON of toilet paper and picked it up and put it in the big potty. She was all happy and excited. I then flushed the toilet and we said "bye bye poopie" together as we waved to it and it went down the drain. She was all proud of herself, but as soon as I mentioned that we needed to put a diaper back on her she started to get angry and refused!

I eventually coaxed her into the room where I could clean her up better and put another diaper on. The only way I could do that was tell her she was going to get a BIG PRIZE! for going poopie in the potty (though she didn't technically its still a step in that direction and I wanted to reward her anyway). Thats when Mia let me put a diaper on her and she kept talking about the "poopie on the floor". When I got her all fixed up we went to the kitchen and I gave her a little purple sucker. She was all happy with her candy and ran off. I then called my Dad to share the news and when I put Mia on the phone she told him about the poopie on the floor too! haha When Daddy woke up she told him about the poopie on the floor too! It was funny.

Well she is showing more and more signs thats she ready to potty train. I am not sure if I am ready for this, but she is and its going to happen weather I am ready or not!
