Current mood: amused
As you know, Mia and Adrian are down in San Diego for a MicroSoft convention. I told you I would end up blogging about something because I knew there would be funny stories to share so here I am. A bit early, actually they are still there but I just got off the phone with Adrian. (1:30pm)
It was so cute, while I was talking to Adrian I could hear Mia jibber jabbering and screaming in the back ground. I could also hear the tiny pitter patter of her shoes on the concrete. Adrian said she has been doing good, no fussiness or crying however she want to explore and go nuts.
The conference is being held at a Edwards Movie Theater, so Adrian thought it would be roomy. Turns out they used one of the smaller theaters and it was CROWDED! TONS of people showed up for the presentation. He said he took her inside and right away he knew he wouldn't be able to find a seat. So he stood there for awhile and while the presentation went on it was very quiet. Mia decided it was up to her to change all that and every now and then she would let out a big short yell! She also wanted to get down and have fun so Daddy finally gave in and walked her out into the lobby to run around a bit. BAD IDEA! She was all over the place he said, but the main thing she wanted to do more than go into the other movies being shown there (in which she also liked to do) but she kept insisting on walking into the Women's bathroom! hahaha I got a kick out of that one. No matter how many times he tried to stop her she kept trying to go inside. Soon Adrian was tired of trying to keep her out of there that he decided to let her run around outside for a bit to release some bottled up energy. It is unseasonably HOT today and I forgot to pack her sunblock.. (poor baby I know!) so hes been trying to keep her in the shaded areas but she wants no part of it. She want to EXPLORE!!!
While I was on the phone he kept having to have me hold for a second while he stopped her from eating a strange plant. We talked a bit more then he stopped because he had to stop her from getting a spider web. Soon she was destroying ALL the spider webs she could see. Then she took off faster and he had a hard time keeping up with her while talking to me on the phone so he had to go. He gave the phone to Mia so I could say Hi but she rather run and play. Oh well... haha
Overall they seem to be doing good. I just wish I packed her sun block. All I need is to have Mia come home as a tomato!! haha Oh well, anyways I am sure I will have more stories to share later in the day, I just thought I'd mention these right now since I am still laughing to myself about it =)
TO BE CONTINUED.....
Call #2 (3:50pm)
I just got off the phone with Adrian. He sounded alittle tired but not to bad. Mia is still on her good behavior, no outbursts or crying fests.. YAY! She is though, keeping him on his toes. After holding her most of the time there, he got tired and worn out from lugging her around, the diaper bag, her lunch box and other things that he finally gave in and busted out her stroller. With hopes of getting her tired enough to sleep he was pushing her around as we talked on the phone. He said he didn't think it was working though because she was more happy about being pushed around and chattering than she was getting tired. I asked if he took the stroller in with him inside the conference area and he said a few times but again she liked to make her little outburst yells just to make noise since it was so quiet. He said he is yet to be able to watch a full presentation! Poor guy! haha
They shared an apple (which kept her calm in the stroller when he wasn't pushing her around) a pair, she ate some kiwi, kix and only half of her mac and cheese before she started spitting it out all over the place. He also ran into an old co-worker, Patricia. She commented on how much she looked like me! Thats a first, most people always say how much she looks like her Daddy. She tried to interact with Mia but Mia wanted no part of it. Every time Patricia said "Hi" Mia would turn her head away. When Patricia asked for a High-5 (which she does pretty good) she turned her head away again. She wanted nothing to do with her... sigh little Mia so anti-social sometimes haha. Eventually Patricia offered to watch Mia for awhile so Adrian could at least watch a presentation in its entirety but Adrian said no, "You don't know what shes capable of" hahaha, he acts like shes an unpredictable baby.. well I guess sometimes she can be that way.
Overall she was doing good and being good, although Adrian did mention that at one point she started rocking back and forth in her stroller, shaking the whole thing, and going AHhh AAhhh Ahhh! lol Silly Mia always trying to draw attention to herself.
It sounds like they are having fun though, a great Daddy Daughter bonding experience and adventure. I do miss them though, the house doesn't seem the same. My Dad is on his way back to help a couple of more days and he should be here in a couple of hours. At least he can distract me a bit while I wait for my babies to come home. Adrian mentioned due to the horrid San Diego traffic they are destined to hit on the way home, he might just stop off to get something to Eat or go to Fry's. Either way Mia will get her dinner there. Thats about it I am sure I will be back with more updates as I get them, till then I am off to do more research on the computer.
TO BE CONTIUNED AGAIN....
Call #3 (6:10pm)
I just got off the phone again with Adrian. The conference has ended and went very well, he got what he came for.. a Free MicroSoft Windows 7 OS so he is pretty happy.
As they got on the freeway Mia knocked out, poor tired little thing. They drove a bit and hit tons of BAD traffic, really bad!!!, so Adrian decided to pull off to rest a bit and wait it out. They ended up stopping by Jack In The Box where he picked up Mia's favorite thing.. Grilled Cheese. She also got a milk and apple sauce with it, I am assuming he ordered the combo. Afterwards they stopped by Robertos for something for Adrian to eat and they both ate there. Mia scarfed down her Grilled Cheese like no body's business and chugged her milk.
They got back on the freeway and it was still pretty bad so they stopped off at Fry's Electronics in San Marcos. Thats where he called me up. I could hear a happy Mia in the background and he said he was letting her run free there while they killed some time waiting for traffic to ease up. He said he would be shooting to leave by 6:30 and hopefully home alittle after 7. I can't wait I miss them so much!!!
I am so attached my family its unreal, but today has been nice and quiet on my end. Thats about it, it seems like the adventure is slowing down but I think I may be back after they get home. I am sure she will create more stories to share while at Fry's she always seems to haha
TO BE CONTINUED ONCE AGAIN.... maybe ....
8:00pm
There home!!!!!! YAY!!!! and just like I predicted, Adrian not only came back with Mia but with more Mia mischief stories as well. He said at Fry's she was going NUTS! Messing up displays, taking USB devices around, munching on store items and running up and down the isle being loud and rowdy. At first Adrian had her in the cart but she didn't want to stay put she wanted DOWN! So he let her down and ended up chasing her ever since. She ran all over the different sections and just touched everything she could. Her favorite thing to do was pick up the encased plastic holders that hold expensive things and throw them on the ground. When Adrian would take it away from her tell her no, she would run and grab another one and drop it on the ground. At one point she found a sealed USB device and walked everywhere with it, found a nice comfy place to sit down, then sat down and started munching on the plastic. Fry's employees would walk by and smile and she just had a blast doing her own thing. Eventually it was time to go and now here they are.
I was so excited to see them that I ran out to the garage to greet them. Mia saw me and had the biggest smile on her face that just melted my heart. Adrian got her down and I showered her with kisses as she smiled happily. He then took her into the house where her Grandpa greeted her as well. Once she would put down she ran around with energy I didn't think she'd still have but she went nuts here too. Grandpa just fed her dinner and they are now sharing an Apple. Daddy is upstairs logging into work and is exhausted!!! He said he has more stories to tell but he is just too tired to think of them right now. I am sure I will add to this blog soon.
Well Mia's first big San Diego Adventure with Daddy has come to an end. Phew what a day, I missed them like crazy but I LOVE hearing all the stories. Poor Daddy is so tired and Mia is still playing around... man what I would give to have that kind of energy and stamina! haha Overall the day was fun for all of us and I am so glad we are all home together again safe and sound.
THE END!
