Out and About and Finishing her Costume

Current mood: happy

Today was a big day for us, it was the first time the three of us went out and about since my surgery. Granted I had to still take it kind of slow it was lots of fun to get out again.

We first ate at Pat and Oscar's. I was craving their salad for days now so it was a nice treat for me. Mia did good, ate some potato wedges and parts of a breadstick. I thought it would make a funny picture to hand Mia a whole breadstick (those things are fat and HUGE) and watch her try to eat it. The pictures came out fine but we couldn't get the breadstick back from her. She loved it!! and ate almost the whole thing! My little bread monster! haha Adrian tried to get her to share some with him but she wouldn't. Eventually she reluctantly gave him a bite but that was it! The rest was hers!

After eating we across the street to Target to check out their Halloween selection. We had some fun shopping around and checking things out. Mia was jibber jabbering like crazy in the store, she was having fun in the basket. We gave her alittle halloween cat to play with and she kept saying "kitty" in her cute little way. We went to the Halloween section but they didn't have much stuff... darn economy!!! We bought some halloween candy which was on sale and then headed to our next destination... Micheals

I had to buy a few things to put the final touches on Mia's Halloween Tinkerbell costume so we hit Micheals fabric store. I was like a kid in a candy store there, I zoomed around all the isles. We put funny hats on Mia and took pictures. There was a headband witch hat that had long orange braids sticking straight out on both sides of it. We put it on Mia and to our surprise she LOVED wearing it. She got all excited about it and when it would fall off her head she would try to put it back on. It was the cutest thing. Then we went to another section and where Adrian found some foam weapons. I put a bee helmet on her and Adrian handed her a foam axe while he held a shield. We told her "go pow pow" and right away she knew what to do. She started hitting the sheild with the axe and got a huge kick out of it. Daddy then handed her a HUGE long sword and she took that too and duel weilded the axe and sword and pounded that sheild. She was having lots of fun and we were enjoying watching her. Eventually she started eating the axe so we had to put it away and she didn't like that one bit. We shopped some more and I picked up what I needed for her costume. By then Mia was getting tired so Adrian took her out of the basket and she rested her head on his shoulder as I paid for my items. Then it was off to home we went.

By the time we got home she was knocked out in her car seat. Poor baby was tired. Adrian took care of her and made her dinner while I worked on her costume. I finally finished it and I am so proud of myself. She needed shoes really bad and since we are on such a strict budget we couldn't buy her brand new ones, so I made do with the resources I had. I got one of her old white sandals and customized it to loook like a Tinkerbell shoe. With the feathery ribbon stuff I got from Micheals I tied it to the front of the sandal and secured 4 bells on them so they would ring when she steps. They are so cute and I am surprised how good they came out. I then worked on her wand. I bought a cheap wand from Target a while back so I got that and customized it to match her outfit. I put green ribbon on the stick and tired green and white ribbon to the star part. I also attached some bells so it rings when she shakes it. I also got one of her princess crowns and put some white feathery ribbon across it to spiff it up a bit. Now her costume is complete and I love it!!! I can't wait to have her try it on!

Well thats about it for today I am very tired. Tomorrow is going to be a huge day for Mia and Daddy. They are going together to San Diego for a Microsoft conference. It will be the first time Mia has been to San Diego without me! I am nervous, not so much for her safety since Adrian is an awesome Dad and I have full confidence in him and his abilities, its more of ME! I don't know what I am going to do all day without my little Butterfly Princess!!! ACK!!!!!
