Current mood: amused
I kick myself so much for forgetting to take out my camera yesterday because there were so many priceless moments to catch. We went to Adrian's cousin Carina's engagement party in San Diego and it was loads of fun.
Mia did awesome on the ride down, she actually slept almost the entire time which is rare but good because she was well rested for the party. Dressed in her little "school girl" uniform Carina gave her for her birthday and her dancing shoes on (her little white sandals with a shiny sea shell on them) she was ready to party! The party was held at Carina's fiance's home so we weren't so sure how to get there. Once we found the place we found out the truck parked in front of us was full of fellow Cardoso Clan members! Her cousins Robert, his Fiance Cherilyn (with baby which we found out is a girl!!!), her daughter Angelica, Geni, and Alissa. We caught up alittle in the driveway then all walked to the house. We were greeted by Carina's Fiance (Ryan)'s Mom and uncle. Both were awesome people and really nice. The invited us into their beautiful home. The back yard was huge and was all decorated for the party. We made ourselves comfy and tried to break Mia out of her shyness.
At first she didn't really want to walk around but that didn't last long. After sitting on her big Cousin Robert's lap for a while she warmed up and started being her normal self. Soon the rest of the Cardoso family showed up and not long after that the rest of Ryan's family as well. Everyone was happy to see Mia and she showed off her walking skills.
Then the food was ready so everyone served themselves Philipino food!! Can't beat Pansit and Lumpia!! Yuuuumy! Mia liked them both but Pansit was her favorite, she was shoving it in her mouth like nobodies business! haha After she ate a bit, I watched her as Adrian ate first. Mia was all over the backyard, of course doing what she does best... searching for leaves and picking up any she could find. When her hands were stuffed with leaves she explored more. One of Ryan's cousins or uncles I don't remember, was sitting on one of the chairs with his guitar and started playing and singing. Right away Mia was drawn to him and walked up to him to listen. She stared at him for the longest time then started dancing! haha She was swaying back and forth like she normally dances and everyone thought it was really adorable. After awhile she took off in search of more leaves.
Then the stage was set up and the music started playing. Right away Mia started dancing, however, this time it wasn't her normal swaying back and forth with stiff legs... this time she was actually shaking her hips and butt! Then she started going completely nuts! Shaking her bootie as hard as she could! It quickly caught everyone's attention and they all loved it. She boogied on down the whole party! Whenever there was music there was Mia dancing away! It was the cutest site ever!!!
The whole party was great. Lots of fun, I just wish we could have stayed longer but with our long drive home and the fact it was getting pretty chilly it was time to go home. She didn't sleep on the ride home but she was a good girl. I fed her dinner once we were home and off she went to bed awhile after... but of course not before she started dancing more to Elmo's World. She really knows how to shake it! haha
