Yay we made it to the pumpkin patch! I am so excited! For anyone who knows me, knows my favorite thing in the world are pumpkins. I look forward to Oct. every year because thats when all the little gourds and pumpkins start making their appearances. I even had pumpkins decorating our wedding reception, so you better believe going to the pumpkin patch is a big deal for our tiny family.
This was Mia's second time at the pumpkin patch. The first time she was alittle over 3 months old and she didn't do much but stare. Now that she walks and jibber jabbers it made things so much more fun for all of us. I got her dressed up for the occasion. She wore her little white long sleeved shirt with a small pumpkin on it, jeans, pumpkin socks, pumpkin bracelete, shoes and to top it all off, little pumpkin ribbons for her hair. She looked so precious! After we were all ready it was off to the patch we went.
We go to the very same pumpkin patch every year, since we moved here back in 2005. Its a small family owned place and very cute. Once we got there we let Mia loose and she went NUTS in the patch. She explored all the pumpkins, the hay on the ground and watched the little kids around her. At one point he placed her in the middle of a bunch of small and medium sized pumpkins and she got the biggest smile on her face. She was having a blast. She was so happy that she even caught the eye of a couple nearby... they just had to compliment on how cute she looked and Adrian and I just stood by beaming with pride and watching our little pumpkin run all over the place.
Then she started to pick up some hay and leaves that were on the ground and carried them with her everywhere. Then she found a small pumpkin and tried to pick it up and carry it with her. We later sat her on some bundles of hay to take some pictures. Right away she started picking up the small pumpkins next to her and then began throwing them on the ground. She thought it was a game or something because every pumpkin she could pick up or we handed to her she would throw on the ground. Soon small pumpkins were rolling down the hill and being tossed everywhere. I thought it was so funny but Adrian was more concerned that maybe we would get kicked out. I didn't mind, my little one was having fun and thats all that matters.
Eventually we started to get a bit tired so I picked out a few pumpkins to take home. A medium sized one for me to carve, a small one for Mia (which I will also carve) another smaller pumpkin for Mia to throw and distroy at home and of course as tradition calls for... a tiny gourd for Mew Mew (yes she gets her pumpkin every year too!) We tried to have Mia pick out the cats gourd but she was more interested in picking up the dried corn cobs haha
We then paid for all our pumpkins and we left the pumpkin patch for the last time. (I don't think we will still be living up here by next Halloween). It was a very fun day with my little pumpkin butt, Mia!
