A sad end to a great visit

Current mood: sad

Well its that time again, my Dad had to say goodbye and go home. Having him there has been so beyond awesome. He has helped out so much and Mia loves him to death. She still rather say "aaam..pa" than Mama! haha This whole week zoomed by at lightening speed I still can't believe it.

Yesterday was a big day though, her and Grandpa got to go out for alittle bit just the two of them. They had to hit Walgreens to pick up my ointment for my horrible rash then Vons and Carls Jr. (Mama just HAD to have her salad! haha) My Dad said the trip went awesome. He was surprised how good of a girl she is in the store, which she usually is unless shes tired or hungry. She never acted up and Grandpa beamed with pride anytime someone complimented on how cute she was. So shopping was fun, no incidients other than catching her eating some cardboard tag off a toy she was getting. Shes quick like that, you always have to keep an eye out for my little Mia-Mouse! haha Grandpa learned the hard way on that one. When they came home they were loaded down with tons of goodies. She even came home with something that I loved as a small girl, a brightly colored necklace and bracelete (the type you buy at the grocery store) She fell in love with that and was wearing it all over the place until she decided to start munching on them haha. She also got some of those type of balloons that you can shape into small animals and she went competely NUTS when I blew them up for her. I made her a balloon hat, a sword and even just some round werid thing. She loved carring as many as she could hold all over the house and playing with them. I was really surprised how much she loved them.

Later in the day her Grandpa took her out for a walk outside. They ended up going to the park and of course went on a leaf hunt. At one point she came across a GIANT leaf and got so excited from seeing it she started to hyperventalate with the biggest smile on her face. They had a blast. So needless to say Mia was tuckered out and slept VERY well last night. I think we all did.

I am sure going to miss my Dad and I know Mia will too. He helped soooo much with EVERYTHING not only did he make it a point to spoil Mia but he also spoiled me as well. I would get treats every now and then and he even cleaned my kitchen a couple of times! YAY! With Mia he did EVERYTHING for her, changed all her diapers, changed her clothes, made her meals and fed her, played with her and of course put her to bed. When he put her to bed it didn't just consist of laying her down and saying good night and walking out, no it consisted of a whole ritual. He would take her to her room, let her run around a bit (I loved hearing them chatter over the baby monitor downstairs, especially him saying "No Mija! No... NO... " (She loves to try to get her plug in night light) haha it would make me smile. After letting her run around a bit he would then rock her to sleep on the rocking chair and sometimes sang to her. Eventually he would lay her down to bed. Sometimes he would put her in her crib and just talk to her until she fell asleep which sometimes took awhile since she liked to get up and peek to make sure he was still sitting on the chair. She even knows how to pretend snore now and its the cutest thing. She does it so good and I think its because of her Grandpa. She sucks in air through her nose in a snort sort of way then blows out in a whistly way out her mouth... its priceless!!! Really cute.

Overall the visit has been fun. I am sad to see him go but I think he may be back again in a few days just to check up on us. My rash is FINALLY looking like it may be getting better and the surgery pain is improving everyday. I should almost be back to normal... well semi-normal... well enough to at least pick up Mia in a few days. I am looking forward to that. Anyways, its been great having my Dad around and I could tell how torn he was saying goodbye... he sure loves his little Bumble Bee Princess
