Current mood: amused
My Dad came back to help us with Mia while I recover, on Monday. Its only been a couple of days and Mia hasn't let up. Don't get me wrong shes been a good little girl, but she is one ball of constant non-stop energy. I feel for my Dad yet I still chuckle inside a bit at seeing someone else experience what I do everyday. The balancing act isn't easy but I have to admit its still tons of fun.
I watch them play whether its leggos (him putting them together, her pulling them apart), her morning "Excerise" which consists of him bouncing her on the bed back and forth (her favorite game of all), watching non-stop never ending marathons of Elmo's world, tons and I mean TONS of poopie diapers (for some reason all of a sudden she is deciding to go 2-3 times a day again! poor Dad! haha) to lets see how many faces I can make at Grandpa while he attempts to feed me, sharing her new found favorite apple (Gala) with him...actually only really letting him just eat the peel while she eats the apple part haha, pulling on her poopie diaper while getting changed till the poopie rolls out! haha, rolling off the couch (Mia that is), running around the house, stopping her from throwing our pumpkins, keeping her from getting in the trash, oh man the list goes on and on.
But no matter how tired he gets or how wild Mia is you can see the constant joy he has in his eyes when he is with her. I know he wouldn't want it any other way.
Mia did do something really sweet yesterday though. Though she doesn't talk yet, she knows a few words and only says them when SHE wants to, like turtle, couch, kitty etc. However she added a new and special word to her developing vocabulary yesterday and it just melted my Dad. It was "Grandpa" granted she can't pronounce every little letter you can definately hear it if you listen. It sounds more like "aaamm..pa!" Very cute! My Dad was on cloud nine after hearing that. What a sweet angel! Too bad she only says it when shes in the mood to.
Mia is also showing Grandpa her cleaver side as well. For instance, in the evening they started a new game together. My Dad would say "giggle giggle giggle" and she would repeat it. It was really cute, when she would repeat it she would get praised. So later they were in the kitchen and Mia started getting into the trash. Grandpa quickly stopped her and gave her a little tap on the hand. She got MAD! and walked away. She soon came back and tried to get into the recyclables and again Grandpa quickly went over stop her and as he was trying to do so, Mia wouldn't let go of an empty soda bottle, she looked up at him and said "giggle giggle giggle?" hahaha She was trying to get outta trouble by softening up Grandpa!!! Sigh...Mia! My little travisita!!!
But thats how its been here lately. I wouldn't change a min. of it other than I wish I felt better and could join the fun, but its still fun to watch. I can't wait to see what is in store for us today!
